More Planet Krynoid coming

What did people make of the first box set? I get the impression this is more of a zombie invasion style story.

I'll be curious to get them as I'm somewhat of a completionist when it comes to the 8th doctor, though I wouldn't be surprised if he is only in one story in each set.

Zygon Century: Transformation is out now!

The Zygons have come to claim the Earth, and this time they're playing the long game. For the Black Cadre have a plan, a plan that will take exactly one hundred years to come to fruition.

From the streets of St Petersburg to the plains of Death Valley, the Zygon Century continues...

1922: The Black Cadre by Jonathan Barnes

From Munich to Dublin to an asylum in Dartmoor, the Zygons have agents everywhere, and their plans are growing in scope and ambition.

Can Herbert Scott, that long incarcerated investigator of the occult, do anything to stop them? Is his rescuer - the German heiress, Ilse Lange - all that she seems? And why are the Black Cadre so interested in a mysterious carnival, travelling the wilder reaches of the Cornish coast?

1968: An Incident in Death Valley by Lauren Mooney & Stewart Pringle

Fleeing her brutal human captors, and in hiding from the Black Cadre, the Zygon Vorvoren arrives at a run-down diner in the bowels of Death Valley. There, she finds a friend in Junie, a young waitress, and a town terrorised by a ruthless cult.

But just who is their mysterious leader, 'The Arkon'? And could he really hold the key to Vorvoren's liberation and revenge?

1974: The Caldwell Restitution by Ken Bentley

Agent Caldwell has been posted to the British Embassy in Moscow and ordered to investigate a rising star of the Communist Party. But Caldwell is a shadow of his former self, plagued by nightmares of the past and misty visions of the future.

As the Third Doctor enters the fray, human and Zygon plots collide, and Caldwell's visions threaten to endanger the world. Though neither man can remember the other, can the Doctor and Caldwell put a stop to the Zygon Century, once and for all?

Long Shot Help?

Hi all, after finally deciding on getting the 11th Doctor range, I'm now in search of the very illusive 'Victory of the Doctor' box set.

Banging my head against the wall as I was going to purchase this when it originally released. I've now learnt my lesson!

If anyone is selling one, or knows someone this is/will be, please would you get in touch 🙂

Hoping to purchase one at a reasonable price.

I've been searching for months now 😔🫠

Thank you 🤞🏼

Expulsion is out now!

The Doctor and Peri are reunited with an old friend - or is he an enemy? Turlough insists he's changed since they last met. The trouble is, so has the Doctor, and he's not inclined to trust his one-time companion.

As they travel through Stuart England, Medieval France and Viking Denmark, can they forge a new relationship - or will Turlough's secrets force them further apart?

The Reckoning by Nev Fountain

When the TARDIS is stranded in the path of a neutron star, the Doctor, Peri and Turlough have to flee. They end up in seventeenth-century London, where another old friend, Christopher Marlowe, is trying to get out of a pact he's made. Marlowe's soul is on the line - but has Turlough also made a deal with the Devil... again?

A Crucible of Queens by Lizbeth Myles

In the aftermath of the Battle of Agincourt, the Doctor and Turlough find themselves aligned with opposing factions. Turlough befriends Charles, the Dauphin of France, while the Doctor is tasked with healing his father, King Charles VII. But two powerful women are also in play: the Dauphin's adviser Yolande, Duchess of Anjou, and his estranged mother, Isabeau of Bavaria.

Can the TARDIS crew keep both queens happy - and keep their own heads?

The Curse of the Duergar by Julian Richards

Shieldmaiden Hervor braves the ghosts of her ancestors to claim her birthright, the sword Tyrfing. Made by the Duergar, the Dwarf kings of the below, the blade is cursed: once drawn, it must kill. Even the Doctor cannot resist the power of the sword, and to the horror of Peri and Turlough, he is forced to take a life...

Rank all of the companions (audio, TV and Prose).

I've wanted an easy way to rank all of the companions, and most websites just have either only New Who or only TV and they were ranked in a system of brackets, neither of which is what i wanted, and I recently found the website stor and so I made a quiz with every companion I can find / know.

to rank click: here

WANRING!: this takes a long time there are 171 companions.

My top 5 were:

  1. Bill

  2. Jamie

  3. Jack

  4. Evelyn

  5. Steven

Torchwood - Question about the audios

So I am starting some Torchwood audios and 15 minutes into the Conspiracy and it seems very different from the Doctor's audios. I have listened to a bit of the 8th Doctors but this seems so different. The 8th Doctor's dramas is like a tv show in audio form, but so far this seems like a book trying to be a Audio drama and not fitting quite well.

I suppose my question is, is it always like this? Just seems so clunky to Listen to even though im only 15 minutes in. Or does it become better over time?

Jago and Litefoot listening order

I’m currently having a full relisten through of Jago and Litefoot from the start (still just as good on 2nd listen!)

When I get to the end of series 13 is the best listening experience to go to Series 14 narrated stories rather and the J&L Forever?

I remember J&L Forever being issued first following Trevor Baxter’s death, but as I recall the narrated series 14 picks up the cliffhanger from series 13. So I’d imagine listening order should be:

13=>14=>Forever

even though that’s not how there were released.

Does anyone who’s listened to it recently agree?

r/BigFinishProductions Update April 2026 - User Flairs, Comment Images and More!

Hello all! We (u/MasterAinley and I) have been working behind the scenes to make some small tweaks to the sub to hopefully improve it for you all so I thought I'd put together a post to share what's changed and what else we've got planned.

What's new?

- User flairs are now available for you to choose from, including every Big Finish Doctor and some popular quotes and in-jokes, many of which were chosen by you guys

- Sharing images in comments has now been enabled which will hopefully be useful for things like sharing cover art when 'leaving recommendations from the sale below!' (Please remember all sub rules still apply to images in comments where applicable so don't use pictures of Nardole to bully people) Please let me know that this has been enabled successfully by sharing pictures of who you'd like Jackie Tyler to cross over with next in the comments

- We've got a banner image to make the sub look extra fancy - oooooh

Coming soon from r/BigFinishProductions...

- More user flairs including companions, Torchwood characters, non-Doctor Who Big Finish characters and more

- Revamped post flairs to make filtering the sub easier

- An updated sub wiki to help direct users to some of the excellent guides people have posted to the sub relating to frequently asked questions and similar

- Opportunities to share your views and ideas on the above as we come to working on them

(Some of these may be 'coming soon' in a similar way to Charlotte Pollard Series 3 - I mostly play around with sub stuff when I get some free time at weekends so some of the above may take a while, but will get to them when we can!)

And just to say...

THANK YOU for making this sub lovely to moderate and participate in - we generally have very few rule violations and most of the time when they do occur they're not done maliciously. There are loads of great contributors to the sub who make it a friendly and welcoming place for Big Finish veterans and newcomers alike, so thanks for helping make this community great - we hope you enjoy it as much as we do!

Special thanks to u/JakeM917 for all the work put into the Podcast Notes (the greatest weekly breakdown of Whoniverse news on the web!)

Finally, please feel free to leave any glowing praise, suggestions or feedback below (if we disagree we'll just ignore you like the power-mad mods that we are, mwahahaha). We'll be continuing our 'Sales' and 'New Release' posts to help people stay informed so we hope they're useful to people!

META: What user flairs would you like to see?

We're planning to add some user flairs to the sub and before doing so wanted to hear you guys' ideas of the types of flairs you'd be interested in. No guarantees we'll include everything suggested but we'll add what we reasonably can!

Some ideas to get started:

- Iconic quotes from Big Finish Audios (e.g. 'Zagreus sits inside your head')

- Popular characters and Doctors (e.g. 'The Eighth Doctor', 'Charley Pollard')

- Big Finish in-jokes (e.g. 'You've got this', 'Big Finish Lunch')

Feel free to share ideas based on the above or other themes!

Unbound story pitch.

If I had a million dollars I would make this story happen, but as it stands the idea is far too weird to ever be made.

It's called Colin Baker Unbound.

In the story a Faust-eaque villain is defeated by The Seventh Doctor. It then travels to the real world where it offers real life Colin Baker the chance to go back and continue his tenure as The Doctor without being fired by the higher ups.

Now our real world Colin Baker navigates this new timeline where he played the character for longer than any other actor but the show itself stagnated until the show was unceremoniously canceled in 2005 in the middle of a season. The BBC doesn't even bother to air the final parts of the current story. The very story where the big bad from earlier originates from.

Now in the present day Unbound Colin Baker tries to self fund a recreation of the final episode with the help of the only actor he could afford. A young man named David Tennant who never quite broke into the limelight in this timeline.

What do you think. Could this be... the dumbest story ever pitched?

Animations on YouTube

Hopefully this doesn't fall under the piracy rule, as they were never full stories uploaded, but has anyone else noticed that a lot of the CGI scene reactions on YouTube have vanished?

Its not all of them, and a lot of the recons using action figures have survived, but Fraust66's videos all appear to have vanished, and at least one other animator who did scenes from Jubilee.

Is this due to a Big Finish or BBC Worldwide crackdown or just a couple of YouTubers coincidentally deciding to take down their work at similar times? Or is it just some new eccentricity of YouTube search function?
