It's been about 7 weeks. Should I keep it?
It's been about 7 weeks since I started growing my beard. I even trimmed it once 2 weeks ago. Considering shaving it once the temperature gets above 80 degrees (I live on the east coast USA), as I don't want it to get super hot and me want to shave it, but have already tanned so it'll look weird.
Also, I'm 25 and I look significantly younger without my beard. At first, I grew my beard cuse I work in education and everyone thought I was a High Schooler. But now I'm wondering if the beard makes me look too old. I was at the post office today with my Mom taking care of some passport stuff, and the lady at the desk asked if she was my older sister XD.
But I'm curious to hear some other thoughts.
I cut my beard.... Does it look okay?
before, and after !!
4 months of growth so far. Thinking about going for a full yeard. Should I keep growing it out or is it too patchy?
Advice needed: how do I keep a coloured beard soft and tame?
I would appreciate some advice from people who know beard care well. My plan is to grow the beard in a boxy shape to twice the current length.
I occasionally go swimming in a pool (chlorine) and dye my beard twice a month. Other than that I take care of it a lot and try to keep it groomed and cleaned.
Before swimming I try to oil the beard well (is using a beard wax better).
Thankfully the skin under beard seems healthy, never flakes and does not breakout in pimples etc.
My beard is coloured with a good-quality cream-based permanent hair colour intended for head hair. I am trying to keep it soft, tidy and healthy, but it still feels a bit coarse and harder to tame than I would like.
Current routine:
- Viking Revolution sandalwood beard oil
- Viking Revolution argan beard wash / conditioner
- Bulldog Original Beard Balm
- wooden comb
- firm boar bristle brush (I try to work from the base to the tip in multiple directions twice or thrice a day to keep it managed)
I am using the attached products twice a day, and I groom with the wooden comb and boar bristle brush using both rotary and straight brushing.
Even with that, I still find the beard can feel dry, wiry and not especially soft.
I have just ordered some products from Audacious Beard Co in the UK as well, after seeing a few positive comments here.
Does anyone have advice on what I should change to get a softer, more manageable beard? I am especially interested in hearing from anyone who has experience with a beard that is regularly coloured.
Thank you.
I'm considering shaving it off. Any advice welcomed.
TLDR: If you have any suggestions i would really appreciate a refference image to copy it or show it to my hairdresser.
First time growing a beard, took about 5 months. It's patchy, blond and looks like shit. A lot of people close to me are saying i should trim it down or shave it because it looks messy. If it wasn't blond im pretty sure it would look fuller.
Issues: mustache isn't connecting to beard, patch on my left side, patch under the chin, and the thing under the bottom lip is trash.
Cutting it short it looks like complete garbage, you can clearly see all the patches and the hair is thin.
I use a beard brush in the morning and sometimes hair conditioner when i wash my hair, but the conditioner doesn't seem to make a difference**.**
Should I keep growing it out? Or wait a few years. Im only 22
The missus suggested I get it shaped, and I tend to agree.
Long time listener, first time caller. I've been growing a beard for the first time, and I started in November. I'm thinking I should trim, but I want to ask for some opinions on what I should focus on. Thanks!
Here’s an update to how a beard can change with age (haven’t brushed it)
I thought my beard was nice but was suggested to shave it, what do you all think?
open to any suggestions or criticisms
first and second pic are from when i just got it trimmed and cleaned up
third is my last day of vacation (without beard oil or my brush)
Beard much thicker in front
Does any one have similar looking beard and experience growing it out? My cheeks are pretty greasy looking and wonder if I just need to try again in a couple years?
I'm trying to grow this thing out. Would anybody have any advice?
Im 24 Im pretty insecure about my beard growth what should i do ?
Should i shave it or what should i do with it im insecure about it as its thicker at the bottom and thin on the sides. If i trim the sides it wouldn’t look that full so i try to grow the sides and brush if dosn Even my mustache im not sure what hair texture is that can someone advice
2.5 months in still patchy
Will this grow in? Too early to tell?
Worth growing out, or too patchy?
For context I am 25, do you think this will fill in any more or am I out of luck? This is 1 week of growth.
Advice. 7 days no shave
For context I am 24 and have never attempted to grow a beard. This is my beard after not shaving for 1 week. Do I have potential and will it look ok if I commit to growing it out? My main concern is that my chin will be too light. Thanks
Is there anything I can do?
I'm 22 and usually stick to a smooth shave. I decided to let it grow out for 2 months and this is all I have so far. it looks way thicker on my neck in a way that I dont think is too flattering. is there any way to style it and make it nice or should I just shave it and wait until I can grow it out better?
Dry skin and redness
Hi,
i noticed that at the part of the beard that consists of most accumulation of hair i have probably very dry skin that turns into white mold sort of thing and smart particles of that fall of when i brush my beard causing the blood to show up, after shaving my beard here's how it looks like. Any advice of cream i could use to get rid of that and how do i prevent it from appearing again. I already tried cutting my beard multiple times and moisturizing it, but without any effects.
