IEMs and hearing health? How do you know what volume is fine and what isn't?
Recently got the KZ Castors and hooked them with a DAC and I have to say (this is my first IEM) I have never enjoyed music more than I have now
It's amazing that I went 30 years without hearing music this clearly and this detailed, I'm going through literally listening to every song I ever enjoyed and they feel almost like I'm listening for the first time
My question is, the clarity on these IEMs is so high that to be honest I can't tell if the volumes I'm listening are harmful to hearing health or not
Is there any way to check the db being put out by my PC or something? I listen through my computer, USB port to a creative DAC to the IEMs
Should I be using the creative PLAY! 3 or plug directly into my motherboard audio port?
Recently got KZ Castor IEMs and a friend gave me a creative PLAY! 3 and said I'll probably get better audio quality if I plug that into my USB port and then plug my IEMs into that
My motherboard is a Tomahawk B450 MAX
Should I be using the creative PLAY! 3 or plug directly into my motherboard audio port?
Felt a static shock from one of my IEMs, is it cooked?
IEM Model : KZ Castor
Long story short I had my IEMs in and took off my hoody which I guess charged my clothes, felt a slightly painful static shock in my right ear, nothing crazy just a small bit of static
Now I'm paranoid whether that may have damaged the right IEM
I've ran balance tests swapping volume from left to right and back/forth and I don't know if I can tell a difference to be honest, they sound very similar, if not the same, but now I'm paranoid I may have messed it up. There's maybe slight differences in volume/sound quality but that could very well be minute differences in my ear I never noticed before until now
How cooked are they likely to be? Is it common for them to get damaged from static?
