Touching the gold

Last moment and true destiny. When I first saw him in the game, my heart stopped. He's so beautiful. I imagined that deep down in the abyss, he's the one and only golden jewel. And it made me want to touch him. Oh, right — drawn with acrylic markers, so the notebook's seam runs down the middle.

Looking to buy the game, worth it ?

Okay so the game is on my radar since a year or 2, but the YouTube content doesn't convince me, mostly it's 20 minute videos of people screaming and killing each other, which is... not what I'm looking for, on the other hand the game looks dark, hard and with a fair share of grinding, but then I can't find a single video that's not just about a clown knocking the captain and the whole krew chasing it while being eaten by a creature 6 times bigger than the sub.

Soooo... what keeps you playing the game ?

Tips and trick for Barotrauma

I’ve recently have gotten back into Barotrauma with almost 700hrs (mostly through the sub editor). I’ve completed the campaign once and have started a new one with friends.

What are some tips, tricks, tech you’ve come across through your experience in barotrauma? What were some things you wished you knew when starting or some tips for new players getting into barotrauma? These could range from small tech or game changing knowledge or any tips you may have for the submarine editor and etc.

Notable ones from me are:

1.) There was a captain that I saw alive in a Thalamus wreck, with flailing tendrils protruding from her mouth. The wreck was found in substantial ruin, so the thought of that character being forced to live paralyzed for possibly several months while in whatever sense of discomfort, pain, and violation one might envision them having while everyone else on their crew laid dead around them was pretty interesting.

2.) I had a crew of prisoners that needing transporting, so I gave them paralyzant and put them all in the prison cell of my Typhon. While dealing with a crawler nest, I was notified "Too many prisoners have died. The mission is a failure". When I went to look in the cell, they had all apparently suffocated to death because the submarine couldn't supply enough oxygen to that room for all of them.

3.) Not very unique and more or less just a combination of the prior options, but the people trapped in their submarines while the doors outside are wrecked or welded shut also are fun to imagine being. You hear mudraptors or crawlers outside every day, hoping that at some point you might be rescued and that you don't make enough noise so that the creatures outside don't claw their way in to finish you off during the waiting process. The crew dialogues to envision during these scenarios are also fun to think of, with some crew members being split up in different rooms, interacting with the others via their headsets to sustain a sense of company.
