Been on the hunt for 3 months finally found one I liked. M sport Package and 28k miles on the dash. Previous owner was a lease and I believe they financed and kept it low mileage probably old. Service records checked out and the car was exactly what I wanted for options. Praying for a safe delivery and a nice easy otd process
Recently purchased a BMW 540i with 30K miles. Alpine white with blue interior. Msport, HUD, HK sound, and 20” individual wheels! Already put black kidney grills and used BimmerCode for full screen carplay.
I owned this B58 baby since new to me with 13K miles back in Feb of 2022 and has been amazing and had everything I need as a luxury commuter for work up until this past month.
now with 73K miles on and zero issues beside tires and a battery recently, I now have a failed evaporator, pinion seal that is barely leaking, and a rear flex disk that needs to be replaced.
all maintenance up to this moment has been done at the dealership under the BMW ultimate care plus which i still have valid for another year of 14K miles.
the car has tires that are 6 months old, a new set of rear brakes and rotors that were replaced last month under the care plus plan.
the decision am facing is do I replace the evaporator now and keep the car or its time for it to start falling apart and becoming an endless pit? I truly love it and I am in no way liking the G60 or considering it. at the same time the car is plummeting in value and am not sure it will be a wise decision to wait for the new 5 series redesign which may or may not be in a year or 2.
fellow G30 folk, what would you do?
Just picked up this CPO '23 540i XDrive in Skyscraper Gray with M Sport package and 27K miles this past weekend and simply can't get enough of it! I spent longer than I probably should have researching what car I wanted and when this one popped up in my area I couldn't pass it up.
Location is driver side mainly coming from the hole in the brush guard under the car. Just started (noticed) today but I park in the same spot on the concrete so..
Anyways, liquid has an oil like feel pretty clear in color and translucent the black stuff on the picture of towel is the dirt from under the car surrounding the hole.
Additionally, I could see some coolant colored liquid splattered and wet parts under the main and secondary reservoirs along with the main being low.
Replenished the coolant and idled the car for a minute to see if it would leak more and moved to fresh spot of concrete to see.
Lmk your thoughts.
I'd like to make my chrome grille surround bluestone metallic. Are you able to separate the active shutters or is this one piece?
I'd also like to dechrome my window trim.
Any reputable places I could get a carbon fiber trunk ?
I want do get a G30 (530e specifically). I'm looking for 2021 530e since it's LCI and not affected by the chip shortage. But haven't been able to find many in stock in my area.
There's a 2020 available though.
Should I wait to see if any pop up, or pull the trigger on 2020?
My first bmw btw
Option A: 2019 540i xDrive with 61k miles, but has almost no service history records, 3 owners, and is being sold at an official off-brand dealer (i.e. a non BMW dealer but an official comparable make dealer) going for $25.1k
Option B: 2019 540i xDrive with 91k miles, but has extensive service history records (was always serviced extensively at the official BMW dealer that it’s being sold at, has two owners on CarFax but was the scenario where the original owner leased it & then bought it out after the lease, is being sold at an official BMW dealer (exact same BMW dealer where it was exclusively serviced its entire life), going for $22.2k.
I can post or DM links to anyone who wants to see the exact listings, but they are both similarly optioned in the sense that they have both have the Harmon Kardon sound system, heads-up display, ambient lighting, wireless CarPlay, anthracite headliner, etc.
What do we think?
Do I need to change my non M sport rear bumper to an m sport rear bumper if I’m adding exhaust?
Or want to get a diffuser?
I am currently in process of swapping the front to an m sport bumper.
I wanted to see how long your oil filter housing lasted (year and miles) and what your replaced it with? I'll go first
B48, OEM lasted 9 years, 90k miles, replaced with OEM
Would you go for this long wheelbase G38? Or the G30 that we all know and love.
The G38 has a comfortable rear seating arrangement, but on the outside it looks kinda odd (although I’m getting used to seeing long wheelbase cars because I live in China). Still the normal G30 is so sexy.
Should I go for the G38, or wait a little bit till I have enough for a G30?
I had my wheels painted because they were a bit scuffed and I was also a bit tired of the black wheels look.
Hey guys.
2019 540i xDrive, M Sport, no EDC. 115k miles. Just installed new wheels + tires (balanced).
For quite some time now I've been dealing with highway vibration + shake under braking from speed, floaty feel on highway, constant micro-corrections / “crosswind” sensation, and overall steering feels less tight and precise than before.
I want to restore that glued to the road / tight steering feel as much as possible.
Planning suspension refresh, but don’t want to replace everything blindly. What are the actual critical items for my goal, and what’s usually fine to leave alone?
Front:
Upper control arm
Lower frontward arm
Lower rearward arm
Rear:
Toe control arm
Trailing arm
Guide link
Wishbone
Camber arm
Other:
Tie rods
Sway bar links
Shocks (and whether springs should be done too)
Anything else I might be missing.
Any help will be appreciated!
