Hi! Here’s my DDS Karin wearing a default Volks nightgown and a pair of unbranded socks.

Mainly I wanted to ask a few questions. I bought a body stockings that you can see in the pictures. I bought it from AliExpress, it’s not a branded accessory, since I cannot afford to order from Volks for now. I wanted to make my Karin into a comfort doll, that is to pose her a lot, move her from place to place and give her a good hug from time to time. I’m very new to the hobby so I’d appreciate any tips (I know that I have to avoid touching her face and that it’s best to not touch her wig either - well, I can’t do much about the wig though - it’s massive).

Questions I wanted to ask:
- do I have to worry about staining or any other problems (like damage, scratches, permanent dents etc) with this body stockings on?
- should I worry about wrinkles on her thighs?
- is it ok to put the body stockings inside her arms (see the photo)?
- any other tips on handling a doll with a protective body stockings?

Sewing dreams and ideas are invading my head space. I’m editing a video for YouTube in CapCut. Entrenched in the learning curve and dreaming of things I could be sewing. This time tho - I’m not giving in. When I finish editing I will sew🧵🤎👈🏿

I recently received these kimonos for my dolls and I couldn't resist taking pictures of them in nature. They're so cute! It was really nice to take pictures surrounded by nature—relaxing and refreshing. The only problem was the mosquitoes; they didn't spare me! x3

First post on here! Glad I found this subreddit :) I'd never be able to afford a doll that wasnt a recast probably, lol. She's my first 1/4 scale bjd, and first bjd in general that's not a cheap smaller blind box doll. Also the first doll I've actually wanted to name, meet Dahlia! First pic is a before & after of when I first got her and now.

I've already customized a lot of things about her, it's been really fun. Gave her tattoos(feel free to ask how i did it, its honestly something you wouldn't need to be an artist to do), more facial piercings(& replaced the snake bites on the lips, since they came off super easily so i made sure they were attached more securely but it made them thicker). I got some eyeball silicon molds and made a bunch of custom eyes for her. Added a bit more blushing, eyeliner and lip gloss. Also painted her nails, cut the pink wig myself from a default uncut and unstyled wig with some thinning shears. Made the black thigh highs attach to a handmade garter belt and added the hearts to them. Also made the buttons on the grey beanie

I'll definitely be adding more to her, and updating the group with how else I customize her :) feel free to leave any suggestions if you have any!

Fallen Angels 1/4 I nabbed for next to nothing on eBay. Any idea what she is? Absolute darling faceup for sure, still unboxing her outfit.

Doll eyes made out of glass carbochons

Sooo since this comes up frequently here a little step by step for making eyes out of glass Carbochons.

I like small anime bjd dolls so I make mostly anime eyes. This makes eyes that follow you and give the face more depth, very fun concept.

The Carbochon should cover the whole eye opening. Lunar Lore and Freedom Advocates take 8mm for example.

Minty Fantasy Forest, 10000escape plan, GSC, Don't Touch my bangs will take 10mm.

I also got a cheap 1/4 head that takes 14mm.

What you need:

-Glass Carbochons in the right size

-utensils you wanna draw/paint with, I use aquarell

-sandwich/parchment paper and pencil

-white paper that is a bit thicker, I use my aquarellpaper

-glossy acrylic varnish

-gel super glue

-nail or other small scissors

Any paper will do for the first part, since the aquarell paper I use is expensive I don't want to waste it. Take the carbochon and draw around it to get the right eye size on paper. Draw how big you want your pupils and make a template on the parchment paper. Be sure to try the Carbochon on, as it will act as a magnifying glass.

Now you can transfer your pupils on the thicker paper. Be careful not to paint them too close together, or your carbochons will not fit later.

Draw the pupils with your preferred medium. Let them dry.

To get less air bubbles coat the eyes and the

underside of the carbochon with glossy acrylic Varnish, let dry.

Put a drop of gel superglue on each eye and press the carbochon onto the eyes, make sure the pupils are where you want them later, for example mine are always a bit off center to make the doll look at you and not just stare ahead.

Let dry, cut out and fixate with eye putty.

Have fun customizing your dolls!

I just love her so much 😭 and made some new Clothes.

Right now she has the eyes of a Blindbox Bjd but some bigger brown eyes are on the way.

My sewing space had gotten away from me. The clutter prevented me from working so it rained and I slayed my dragon.

I showed Oueneifs a photo of a pink faux fur blanket and requested that colour for my doll body. Looks a couple of shades deeper in person. But happy with it. Decided to put normal skin head on the body cos I don't want the face too dark.

i’m a knitter and i plan to try knitting clothes for her with some of my scrap sock yarn that isn’t enough to make anything else

All of my BJD dolls are legit, but when I came across a brown box labeled BJD doll at an Amazon returns clearance center, my interest was piqued on what could be inside. I purchased the box and inside was another box titled "Shuga Fairy" and then this doll with the name "Mirai" on the inside of her head cap. She's obviously recast coming from Amazon, but who is she a recast of? I'm also hit with some guilt of owning a recast, even though I didn't blatantly buy her direct from the source and she was pretty much a blind box until I purchased and was allowed to open the box. She looks really cute next to my MSD dolls. I want to change her eye color and find a better quality wig.

Fell in love with this pic on Aliexpress, but there's only this one picture. Would love to know the original artist and see some more angles of this gorgeous sculpt. Thanks a lot in advance!
