Hey guys, I'm a beginner (made few cushings before) and was offered to reupholster full car seat with vinyl. The bottom part took 8 hours, the backrest almost 12 hours, and it looks terrible. I will try to make it again. I know what could be possibly wrong, but do you have any tips or tricks to do it faster and cleaner? What tools make a big difference? Is it normal to spend this much time on it? All advice and criticism welcome!
I have an update! Check below
Purchased this car from a guy about a few weeks ago and it’s a beautiful car, but the panel obviously rubs against my skin. What’s a good price estimate to expect?
2016 Nissan Maxima Platinum for anyone wondering.
I really want to get into automotive upholstery, but currently dont have the space and money for a walking foot machine. Any suggestions how i can get started without the need of one ?
Is your hybrid limited upholstery like this? It look like it waves too much on the right side of the seat where its diagonal.
Got some driver and passenger covers off a car from the salvage yard pretty good condition besides the areas pictured. Can these be repaired and if so how would you go about it?

We’re Craig’s Auto Upholstery in San Jose, CA, and we’re hiring an experienced auto upholstery technician for in-person shop work.
We’re looking for someone with real hands-on upholstery experience. Automotive upholstery is preferred, especially seats, foam repair, sewing, patterning, headliners, door panels, convertible tops, and classic interiors. Strong furniture, marine, or commercial upholstery experience can also be relevant if the craftsmanship is there.
To make applications easier, we set up a dedicated hiring line.

English and Spanish are supported on the hiring line.

The material shouldn't be that expensive just because it's branded, what guarantee do I have that the seller isn't just buying it from Alibaba and selling on insane premium price even after transport and taxes? We have all these brands that even in the US went popular for car exterior or interior parts and lie about being US based manufacturers
Just because it's from Alibaba doesn't make it bad. We shouldn't bias our opinion based on bad reviews from people who paid outside of Alibaba or got bad seller and couldn't get refund. I am sure there are sellers in alibaba that are willing to provide good products and are aware that long term returning buyers will make 'em more money than just from scamming.
So I'm here to ask if anyone has bought Alcantara/Suede headliner material from Alibaba and is willing to share the seller. It's not for a single headliner, so bulk-only sellers are fine too.
