Skin tint with skincare?

I’m 38 and nevvvvvver wear foundation unless I have an event because I hate the feeling of it on my skin.

However I have noticed some unevenness in my skin occasionally that I’d like to help smooth out.

Can anyone recommend like a skin tint that might have some skin care infused in it so it doesn’t feel like I’m wearing anything? Anything that’s hydrating is a bonus.

Thank you 🙏

If you respectfully refuse to buy into the hype of Rhode Beauty, but still wish to resemble a Krispy Kreme Original Glazed, please read on ...

Hello all, I am reporting to you from my lounge room with a very plump, hydrated ... and dare I say it? .. 'Glazed' face today.

Now, if a product promises dewy perfection in a bottle I will be intrigued. I can't help myself. I am what I am. Most of what I am these days is a devotee of my beloved Stratia Rewind Serum. But I'll be the first to admit I do get a little restless and stray in search of glossier pastures from time to time.

When Rhode Beauty first launched, I rolled my eyes. Another celebrity brand to give someone's less famous spouse something to do while they were not on tour. However, the fanatical popularity of the skin glazing milk did pique my interest. I held off however, confident that the demand for this kind of product would see a brand I actually like come out with something just like it. Enter Stage Left, my trusted skin care companion that is Skin1004.

I was placing yet another order on Lila Beauty, and some of my order was products from Skin1004 that I wanted to gift various friends for their birthday. So I added to cart, and realised with just one more item I would receive a deluxe sample. I did what any sane shopper would do and sorted the Skin1004 products by 'newest'. And there is was. The Skin1004 Madagascar Centella Hyalu-Teca Glass Skin Milk. And for literally half the price of the Rhode equivalent. I just received it today, and boy oh boy. It is milky, almost a serum like texture. And glaze it does! My skin is plump, hydrated, noticeably less red and has a luminosity that is rather lovely. I'm very set in my skin care ways, so it takes a lot for a new and/or 'trendy' product to impress me. Run do not walk.

I did one of these a while ago and I'm bored and waiting for a friend so I thought I'd do it again. I'm a Priceline worker, have been for 15 years. Ask me your questions and I'll answer honestly (to the best of my knowledge)

Desperately seeking a new moisturiser

Hi everyone, I was hoping someone could help me find a new moisturiser. I have type 1&2 Rosacea and am also acne prone. I have been using for years the Swisse Rosehip Moisturiser (photo attached with ingredients) with no issues and was hydrating however that has been discontinued and I’m heartbroken because I can’t find anything else that doesn’t make my face very angry and it’s really affecting my mental health. I have tried a lot of the sensitive skin products and all made my rosacea red and angry within 3 days - QV, Aveeno, Dermaveen, Cerave etc.
I was thinking I needed to try natural product again and tried MooGoo MSM which at first I thought was ok didn’t make me red and angry but then it started giving me normal acne, it also wasn’t very moisturising. I tried their full cream milk one as well and again not very moisturising and caused acne. The latest one is the Sukin sensitive one without essential oils and again it’s not moisturising enough and is causing a little acne. I took breaks between trying each product/each flare to calm my skin again as I still had a bit of my swisse moisturiser left but I only have probably less then a week of the swisse now and have nothing to fall back on anymore and it’s really upsetting me. I’m thinking it has to be a natural product as they have been the only ones that don’t make my rosacea angry. Please help 😞has anyone seen a natural product with similar ingredients to my Swisse one?

Experiences when using tretinoin?

Hi,

I was given tretinoin by my dermatologist and I was just wondering how other people with acne prone, congested, sensitive skin found it? My dermatologist did specify that it could dry out my skin or irritate it so I’m a little hesitant as I don’t want to be trying to fix one thing only to get more problems.

Anyone care to share their experience?

Desperately Seeking a Rich Moisturising Cream

Pretty much what the title says - I feel like I’ve been hunting for years and never found my holy grail moisturiser. 35F, dry/dehydrated skin but also prone to acne (I take low-dose Roaccutane three times a week to keep it at bay).

It needs to be a cream (not a lotion, not a gel-cream), super rich and nourishing, preferably with a nice scent and packaging. The closest I’ve found is Trilogy Ultra Hydrating Face Cream, which I do like. Otherwise, Cetaphil in the tub would be my next pick.

Any other dry gals have any recommendations?

Unpopular opinion/ask: I WANT a greasy sunscreen. Recommendations pls?

every time I search for sunscreen recommendations, it seems like everyone is hunting for the holy grail matte or dry-touch finish. I want the exact opposite! I love a heavy, greasy sunscreen - having the sheen makes my skin look and feel incredibly healthy lolll

I’m usually a die-hard Cancer Council fan and have worked my way through a lot of their range, including:

  • CC Sensitive
  • CC Kids (the purple label)
  • CC Daily Moisturiser
  • CC Work (which I think is relabelled to Ultra now?)

while I love my CC, I kind of want to branch out and see what else is out there that delivers on the shine. I'm wanting to try out brands like Banana Boat, Hamilton, or Bondi.

does anyone have recommendations from these brands (or others)? bonus points if it comes in a bulk pump bottle! x

PSA - Torriden sun care is back on W Cosmetics shelves

Taken on Sat 9 May in Melbourne (won't be sharing the exact store due to privacy, sorry but I asked the girl at the counter and she said it should be hitting all of the stores soon)!

All of the blue Dive In packaging says "Made In Korea, Australia exclusive" but the Balanceful sun cream doesn't seem to have this despite being the only product with an SPF rating. I've included all sides of the Balanceful sun cream box in case someone else can pick up the disclaimer.

Has anyone tried this? On the hunt for an SPF that doesn’t break my (extremely) acne prone skin out and not many reviews out there for this one.

Finacea for anti-ageing ?

I see this mentioned a lot to use alongside Tret.

I use Tret 0.5% every night for 6months+ now.

I don’t have acne, I do have some sun damage/freckles. I’m 46 so using it mostly for wrinkle prevention.

Could Finacea be a beneficial addition for my skin?
I don’t sandwich with Tret , so would I use this in the morning, before my sunscreen?
Build up to daily use?

Any advice appreciated 🙏

Sick kid woken me up at 1am and I got lucky

Was eyeing this for a while and thinking I might get 20% on Sephora sale. Check my phone at around 1am and idk why I went to Sephora app. Theres only one left and it was 50% off. Trying to pay for them and it stated the price wasn’t right and try again and again and it went through finally. It’s on the way to me now. Any reviews on this?

Please help! Seeing my doctor tomorrow and need advice please. 33F terrible skin

I’m 33F and barely have any skin care routine. I wash my face every night with cetaphil gentle cleanser. To remove my eye makeup I use a Neutrogena micellar water. I don’t wear foundation so I am usually just washing off sunscreen from the day.
I use .0025 Tret every night and have been for 3 months. I saw my doctor who’s certified in dermatology a month after being prescribed it and said I see no results. I was told it could take 6-8 months. It’s really disheartening because I watched so many TikTok’s about how life changing it was.
I was also switched to a different birth control brand when I got prescribed tret, it’s Yaz and my doctor said it’s known to have benefits for the skin.
I am a serial skin picker as well. So any time I have pimples, I’m picking. My doctor told me that my lexapro should be helping this as he said it’s just anxiety, however there’s been no real change.
I’m so embarrassed. I feel like I look like a teenager going through their first few breakouts but it’s every day. I feel like my skin is giving *unhealthy*. I’m so mortified honestly. Please help if you can. I’ll bring up anything to my doctor tomorrow

3 months on Hydroquinone (John Plunkett's Superfade Cream)

Hello everyone,

This post is intended as a review of my experience with hydroquinone 2% for dark spots, for anyone interested in trying it themselves.

- I am 37 and male. My melanin distribution is a Fitzpatrick 2 or 3, where I can tan but mostly burn.

- I have been using sunscreen daily since I turned 30, but the last few years I have noticed some sun spots developing on my cheeks. This may be due to not re-applying sunscreen throughout the day.

- I used John Plunkett's Superfade Cream ($30 for 40mL) twice daily for exactly 3 months. This is an over the counter option we have here in Australia, not a prescription version. I am not affiliated with the brand, it's just what was available at the chemist. You are supposed to take a break after 3 months of use.

- The product was quite harsh for me, and I noticed an increase in redness and small acne marks over the course of treatment. It is very occlusive and contains some petrolatum, I believe this is what my skin didn't like so much.

- Sorry for the low quality images, but I estimate that I saw a 30% reduction in pigment after I'd finished the three months. The sun spots are still there, but have lightened a modest amount. I also believe I saw a modest improvement in texture as the cream contains 1.5% Salicylic Acid.

I am happy with the reduction in pigment but could frankly do without the redness or acne marks. I wasn't expecting them to disappear in three months but the trade-off in other skin concerns wasn't quite worth it for me.

Next, I will try returning to Adapalene and will layer it with 5% tranexamic acid cream (Celimax) as I have heard the combination of retinol and tranexamic acid can yield similar results to hydroquinone. If I don't see results, I will try laser.

Thank you!

Chemistwarehouse free fast delivery when you spend 30$

Normally they don't really have free delivery so it's a good deal especially when it's purchase order value is 30$which is reasonable and it's fast delivery so you can get your stuff within a few hours.

Any good discounts around for Mother's Day of a device you'd recommend?

Happy to be de-influenced too if you think the face mask thing is a scam.

I turned 40 last week and I'm not even quiet about how much it's bothering me 🤣

Advice on Korean sunscreens to use in Australia

I know that we should be going for the regulated sunscreens that are recommended but let a girl LIVEEEEE I just wana be able to put a light weight affordable sunscreen which most Korean or Asian sunscreens are! But then I understand that yes we live in Australia and need to be sun safe too. So is there any sunscreens that anyone can recommend that are light weight non greasy feeling with good protection AND affordable? I used to love the MECCA sunscreen but honestly it’s too pricey for me so I’d rather buy biore or torriden :/

lip balm alternatives

At the ripe old age of 27 I have arthritis in my hands and can no longer squeeze my tube of Carmex without pain. Looking for recommendations to replace them. I LOVE carmex and have about 10 tubes scattered in my office, house and car. I like the mco beauty overnight masks however the screw top lid is also getting to be too much.

Any suggestions / recommendations on something similar in lip feel for Carmex?
