Again, they didn’t even try to ring the doorbell/knock…
I have a smart doorbell that sends notifications to my phone when someone rings the bell or it detects movement. Once again the Aus Post driver failed to ring or knock. How do I know? I got the notification that movement was detected and I saw it was a delivery. I stupidly thought they would ring the bell so I didn’t rush to the door. I quickly realised they weren’t going to bother ringing/knocking so I literally ran to open the front door just to see the driver putting it back in their van. I was outside at this point walking towards the van as they climbed into the driver seat, I tried to get their attention by saying “hello!” but she just looked at me and ignored me. I was waving her down and saying “you have my parcel” - she looked straight at me and drove off. A second later I got the ‘Attempted Delivery’ notification.
I really thought Aus Post couldn’t get any worse but they just love to prove me wrong time and time again. I should have known better than expecting them to do the basics of their job such as ringing the doorbell or knocking on the door. I should have also known better than to not run when I got that first movement detected notification.
I’ve submitted a complaint already but also just needed to rant!
