2026 Virtual Cockpit!

For the 2026 model year, Audi not only brought back maps in the virtual cockpit but also the ability to use whatever maps you’re using in Apple CarPlay or Android Auto! First picture is the 2026 Q5 and the second picture is the 2026 Q3, which has a slightly shorter screen.

Can’t wait for my new Q3 I ordered to arrive!

Pictures are screenshots from videos from YouTube that show it in action. I’ll link them below!

Audi Q5 Repair Cost Question

Hi all, I need two repairs on my Audi Q5:

  1. Passenger side rear view mirror is damaged and needs repair (not a total replacement). Quoted $2,127.85 for part and $388.50 for labor. Went to Audi dealership (I figured they were going to charge a ton), and then a local repair shop, where I got this quote. They said the part seems to only be available from Audi, which is why it’s so expensive. Part number is 80B857410E9B9.

  2. Tail light on passenger side has a hole in the middle of it somehow. Quoted $1,123.99 for part and $97.13 for labor. Part number is 80A945076C.

These repair costs seem pretty outrageous, especially the parts. I’m looking for advice on how to get these repairs done as cost effectively as possible. Both are cosmetic issues, so I just need them to look fixed, I don’t care if they’re original parts. I’m in the metro Atlanta area. Appreciate any advice!

‘18 Q5 - New to Me

Swapped out the grill and fog lights. Amazing the difference it made. All for under $500 and about 90 minutes of my time.

My question is this…

I want to put 22” wheels on. Has anyone done this on the B9 Q5 and what was the offset. My 20’s are about an inch away from the upper control arms on the front. I don’t want to buy wheels, mount tires, then find out that they don’t fit and I can’t return them once mounted.

TIA

Hi,

I have the new Audi Q5 Sportback 2025 TDI (diesel) Quattro mild-hybrid 204cv. So far I had to refill engine oil 3 times:
+ 1 L around 3000 km
+ 1 L around 8000 km
+ 1 L around 13900 KM

So around 1 L every 5000 km. 90% of my driving is made on highways (2-3 round trips per week of 200 KM). Now I am about to reach 18000 KM and worried I will have to refill again. I had the standard diagnostic made at the garage (two checks with 1000 km made between them) and they told me the measured consumption is “normal”. I was wondering how much similar models/engines to mine are consuming. Thanks in advance for your feedback.

Stable Power Supply for Flashing Your B9/B9.5 S5 — Don’t Risk Bricking Your ECU/TCU

One thing I don’t see talked about enough in the tuning community is the importance of using a proper stable power supply while flashing your ECU or TCU. These cars are extremely voltage-sensitive during the flash process, and if voltage drops or fluctuates midway through programming, you can end up locked out of the module or potentially brick the ECU/TCU and create a very expensive problem.

I actually learned this the hard way after running into an issue while tuning my S5. That’s when I met my mechanic, John, over at AXION. He helped me recover and unlock the ECU so we could complete the tune properly. One of the first things he stressed to me afterward was the importance of using a real stable power supply anytime you flash these cars.

After talking with him, I purchased the same unit he uses in the shop:

Snap-on EEBC30A12V Battery Charger Plus (LiFePO4 capable)

I paid around $360 for it and now use it every single time I flash the car. ECU, TCU, returning to stock, doesn’t matter. I won’t flash without it connected.

A lot of people assume a normal battery charger is good enough, but there’s a difference between charging a battery and maintaining a clean, stable voltage supply during programming.

Considering how much money most of us have invested into tunes, intercoolers, intakes, downpipes, wheels, tires, and everything else, this honestly feels like cheap insurance. If you tune at home, I’d strongly recommend investing in a proper power supply before flashing your car.

My brand new $93K 2025 Audi SQ5 has been to the dealer 7 times in 7 months. Yesterday it had to be TOWED because it can't drive, can't park, and can't brake. Any other 2025 Q5/SQ5 owners experiencing this?

I leased a brand new 2025 Audi SQ5 3.0T from an authorized Audi dealer in Ontario, Canada in October 2025. $93,000 for what was supposed to be a premium driving experience. Instead, it has turned into a nightmare that I believe is putting my life at risk.

The timeline:

  • November 2025 (Visit 1): Within weeks of purchase, multiple driver-assist malfunction warnings appeared — adaptive cruise, emergency assist, lane departure, traffic sign recognition — plus the engine warning light. Dealer cleared the fault codes. Warnings came back.
  • December 2025 (Visit 2): Same warnings returned. Dealer cleared the codes again. $0 parts. $0 labor. No actual repair. Warnings came back.
  • January 2026 (Visit 3): Engine warning light stayed on for FOUR straight days. Dealer cleared codes again. Here's the kicker — the Audi A5 LOANER they gave me had the SAME warnings, and that car actually lost power and wouldn't move when I pressed the accelerator.
  • February 2026 (Visit 4): Same warnings again. Dealer says "unable to reproduce" but found stored fault codes. Cleared them. Reported "tested OK." Warnings came back. Again — $0 parts, $0 labor.
  • March 2026 (Visit 5): This time a RED warning appeared telling me to STOP DRIVING. Suspension locked up and became stiff. The dealer had to literally tear apart the entire interior of the car — seats, trim, carpet, center console — and found a BROKEN WIRE in the factory wiring harness. A manufacturing defect. They repaired it with a crimp connector. I thought the nightmare was over.
  • April 2026 (Visit 6): Nope. The red warning to stop driving came back. The wire repair didn't fix anything. The root cause was never actually identified.
  • May 4, 2026 (Visit 7 — Yesterday): THREE critical warnings appeared at the same time: The car was stuck in Neutral, engine light on, red triangle warning, red parking brake warning. It was completely undriveable. It had to be TOWED to the dealer. This car has only 10,500 km on it.
    1. "P not possible. Risk of rolling away! Please contact Service" — the car CANNOT be put into Park
    2. "Drive system: malfunction! Limited vehicle performance" — drivetrain failure, speed capped at 10 km/h
    3. "Rear cross-traffic assist: limited availability. Brake intervention not possible" — the emergency braking system is DISABLED

So to summarize: My brand new $93K Audi SQ5 with only 10,500 km can't drive, can't park, and can't brake. In 7 months I've had 7 dealer visits. The first 4 visits they just cleared fault codes and sent me home — $0 parts, $0 labor every time. On the 5th visit they found a broken wire and tore the whole car apart. And it STILL isn't fixed.

The safety concern that keeps me up at night:

I've been in contact with another owner of a 2025 Audi A5 (same platform) who got the same red "stop driving" warning. In their case, the car completely LOST ALL POWER a few seconds later. Now imagine that happening at 120 km/h on the highway. That's the reality I face every time I drive this car.

What I've done so far:

  • Filed a claim with CAMVAP (Canadian Motor Vehicle Arbitration Plan)
  • Escalated to Audi Canada customer relations and the President of Audi Canada — multiple times, all ignored
  • Filed a safety defect complaint with Transport Canada
  • Filed a complaint with Consumer Protection Ontario
  • Retained legal counsel to send a formal demand letter to Audi Canada
  • In contact with a class action law firm that has previously litigated against Volkswagen Group

How Audi Canada has responded:

This is the part that makes my blood boil. After I escalated to the President of Audi Canada, I received a reply from their Executive Customer Relations Specialist on April 12 promising a response within 5 business days. That deadline passed — nothing. I followed up. They promised again. Nothing. I sent another follow-up after the car was towed. Still nothing.

Every time I contact Audi Canada, I get the same script: "Your concerns are under review and we will provide you with an update within a few days." Then silence. Then I follow up. Then another promise. Then more silence. Rinse and repeat.

Meanwhile, I'm paying $1,055/month for a car that's sitting at their dealership because it can't move. I've now made over $8,000 in lease payments on a vehicle with a confirmed manufacturing defect that seven service visits have failed to fix.

It's clear to me that Audi Canada's strategy is to delay, ignore, and hope I go away. I'm not going away.

Why I'm posting:

I want to know — are there other 2025 Q5/SQ5 owners experiencing similar issues? Red warnings, driver-assist failures, engine lights, drivetrain malfunctions, power loss? I've already found forum posts from owners in the UK reporting nearly identical problems with the 2025 Q5 platform.

If you're experiencing these issues, I encourage you to:

  1. Document everything — photos, repair orders, dates
  2. File a complaint with your national vehicle safety agency
  3. Contact CAMVAP if you're in Canada
  4. Reach out to me — the more owners we connect, the stronger all of our cases become

This is a $93,000 vehicle. Seven visits and a tow in seven months is not acceptable. If Audi won't stand behind their product, consumers need to stand together.

EDIT: I'll update this post as the situation develops.

Uodates from oem hitch install

Had a few asking for better pics of the oem hitch install

Highly recommend it over curt or other after market ones. As it is all plug and play to the point of needing to pair the module

Was easy to unplug the rear fascia and set it off to the side.

Here is a link for a oem instructions https://rparts-sites.s3.amazonaws.com/ebfe1b892a2c9476efedf264286f87f5/design/installation%20instructions/80A092115B%20Installation%20Instructions.PDF

Hope this helps appointment made for next month to be programed and married at the mothership so if future updates are done it doesn’t wipe it from the system

Mom’s “new” 3.0 V6 Supercharged 2015 Audi Q5

Inherited it from her adoptive dad. He bought a Buick Envista, her mom also owns a red A4 convertible from 2009. Vehicle has 109,900 miles on it. Very well maintained. Dark gray interior with white upper interior lining.

Mom owned a CX50, it was crashed and every airbag on it deployed. It was junked and sourced for parts. Every car before that she owned was a lease.

Is there a way to disable Audi Pre-sense & emergency braking permanently?

2021 Q5 looking for a way to disable all the systems that apply brakes automatically. I’ve had the car a few months and have already had several instances of it activating and putting me in dangerous situations.

Some examples: Going 75mph on the freeway switching lanes, middle of an intersection while I’m making a left hand turn, pulling out of my driveway into the median leaves me stopped in the middle of the road.

I’ve already adjusted all the distances to activate as late as possible and it still makes mistakes all the time. I don’t trust the systems at all, and they haven’t helped me a single time.

Wondering if anyone has used an OBD or some coding to keep them disabled permanently.

Good deal?

Hey all,

Thinking about going for this Q5 honestly feels like a great price but iffy on the mileage. This would be my first Audi, is 60,000KM (37K miles) a lot for a 2022? Is this powertrain reliable? This Technik package would be the Prestige equivalent here in Canada.

Audi S/Q5 backup camera issues?

My backup camera looks incredibly blurry despite the lens being very clean. I clean it with a microfibre cloth once every 3-4 days or as needed. It’s been doing this since I bought it in Jan 2025. Oddly enough, it went away completely in the summer (May-Oct) and came back around winter time and has not gone away since. Is there a way to take apart the lenses and clean it or something? Worried about taking it apart and permanently ruining something.

Pictures are taken 2 minutes apart.

I have a b8.5 Q5 and anytime I research anything I just see people talking bad about the 2.0t. I have an a4 and a VW project car, so I wanted a family car that wouldn’t be too expensive to maintain for vacations etc. the cost of the 3.0 or the sq5 maintenance is a good amount more. I think if it’s particularly your main car and you want performance out of it the sq5 is better but for the average person a 2.0t is still a great option. I know there’s oil consumption issues with earlier ones but gen3 engine and after should still be considered for someone who just likes the car and needs it to do normal daily things

2018 Q5 - Repair Cost Review

2018 Q5 .

Hi All. We recently were away for about 10 days, didn't drive the Q5. Came home and noticed an oil spot under the car. Started noticing smaller oil spots every day. Had to add about 1 quart of oil over the next month. Took it to the dealership, who initially said it was a leaking oil drain plug $280. They included photos that showed the oil about 4 inches *above* the drain plug, which to me made no sense. Oil doesn't leak, *up* does it? This was Saturday. They said they were going to have another 'master' technician look over it. This morning they sent a new estimate saying "Engine Oil Pan Gasket is Leaking, Upper Engine Cover gasket is leaking due to faulty crankcase vent valve. " Estimate for that is $3299.99

Is $3,299 reasonable for those two gasket replacements? Thanks for looking!

The Audi B9.5 S5 Stage-2 TCU tune is everything they say it is. Your car needs this!

This morning I flashed the Stage-2 TCU file and the results are wild. The car now feels like it’s constantly ready to spring forward. Engagement from a stop is immediate and the lazy feeling pulling away is completely gone.
In Sport, the transmission now leaps forward without hesitation while already on the move. The shifts feel faster, more decisive and much more connected to what the car is doing.
When people told me I’d notice the difference with the Stage-2 TCU tune, they were absolutely not kidding.

Some sheriffs showed up to my spot while I was zipping back and forth testing the tune, so all I have right now is a clip I made of me giving it a few revs with its new exhaust. I’ll try to get some digs and Rolling Kli-Maxx pull videos up soon.

2.0T high oil level - what should I do?

Edit: I ended up getting some more oil and doing a spill and fill. It’s at the correct level now and she’s driving great!

Just bought a mint 2020 with 54k on the clock from a Volkswagen dealer. When I checked the oil level, the car says it’s high. I’m not sure how much it’s overfilled as there’s no dipstick of course, but the VW dealer performed the service which included an oil change about 150 miles before I bought it, so presumably a trained VAG tech did the work. So, do I just drain it and put the correct amount of fresh oil in it for peace of mind, or send it until my next oil change (I’m doing 5k intervals btw)? Heavily leaning towards a spill and fill unless you guys tell me otherwise

Sidenote: I’m gonna DIY as much maintenance as possible on this car. What oil do you guys recommend? Obviously I’ll use a 0W-20 full synthetic made for Euro cars, but is one brand better than any other? I’ve used Mobil 1 for most of my vehicles over the years but I want the best for the longevity of my car and I’m willing to pay for it
Edit: after more research, I might switch to 5W-40 weight actually. I live in a warm climate and much prefer longevity to fuel economy
