This has nothing to do with anything after 2024, let's keep the conversation to that era. We all know the game changed dramatically from A1 to A2, particularly because of the engine upgrade from Unreal 4 to 5. Here's what I'm still confused about:

1. Why did the style and systems change so much, since A1 already had such a great reception?

2. What work made it over from A1 to A2? Systems, assets, features, netcode, etc. No need to divulge anything confidential, but at least knowing maybe a rough % of what made it from A1 to A2 would be nice.

3. How did RTO improve productivity? Likewise, how did RTO harm productivity (like staff departing, increased operational costs, etc)?

4. With perfect hindsight, what would you have done differently between A1 and A2 to ensure better results later on?

Creating an MMORPG is a dream for many indie developers; many of us wish for the perfect MMO game, but...

Unfortunately, the sad truth is that modern MMO development is not working with a budget of 10 million dollars, or even 20 million dollars.. and that is why many companies have abandoned this industry.. because the budget for this type of game can reach 500 million dollars. if they want stable game, And hundreds of working developers

I have followed gameplay of this game.. and the level it has reached seems expected.. it could have been worse.. achieving the goals they planned for the game may take another 6 or 7 years.. Steven Sharif Over the years, it seems that many behind-the-scenes dramas have been affecting the developers' mental health.. and the proof is Steven's hair turning white in his latest interview compared to his first interview in 2017.. and his face say it all, red face, dark eye, unhealthy face, and massy hair, It seems that game development turned suddenly from a 'dream' to a 'nightmare' that must be gotten rid of... ( and maybe it will come back ) ?

The frightening thing is that this drama has shifted from being about the game to the law and judiciary, as well as planning to imprison people involved in this project, and this matter is dangerous and threatens all independent developers, making them give up on realizing their dream game.. Perhaps 2D or pixel games will be the refuge for independent developers forever. thoughts?

I find this to be very interesting. I believe Ashes to be a scam, but if it begins development again, does it prove it wasn’t? Hm.

i noticed a lot of people who get mentally ill or damage feeling because of what happen to AOC, because some people actually waited 10 years for this game to come out.. and we human have at least 60 years of our time to live, which is mean anyone who waited for that game.. is actually wasted 17% of their lives... i can understand this part.. but you guys really need to calm down and relax..

we are humans, we don't need to sit in negative circle, i'm talking about the people, LazyPeon, Steven.. everyone has suffered from this experience.. steven has dream of making his own MMO, when he was actually working for other huge companies and having decent salary.. LazyPeon, he waited 10 years, and spend thousands to support this project and have a lot of videos and time to spread and hype the game, and the people who also suffer from exact same problem, money spends, and unknown future.... and, some people feels the needs for quitting MMO or gaming after what happen to them..

i hope everyone can forget about what's happen, you don't need to think in that way.. and i'm know that people actually give up about MMO as a whole after this, or play old MMO games cuz there is no recent MMO at the moment at all.... and me my self, didn't know about the drama until now.. and i didn't know that AOC is actually exist, because i'm actually give up playing MMO since a long time ago... because i know these type of games suck up a lot of your time..

The lawsuit filed against me and John has now been dismissed. This was always a completely fabricated lawsuit claiming that we had misappropriated money from Intrepid, harmed the company, or somehow caused the collapse that Rob Dawson and his board created. Those allegations were false when they filed them, false when they pushed them into the public narrative, and false when used as a distraction to cover for the board’s conduct. Now the case they used to fuel that narrative has been dismissed.

This complete farce of a lawsuit was part of a broader scheme to control the narrative by muddying the waters and distracting from the highly unlawful actions now laid out in our federal lawsuit against Rob Dawson and his cronies. While employees were thrown into chaos, vendors and creditors were left out in the cold, and the Ashes of Creation community was left searching for answers, the board and its allies pushed a story designed to make us the villains so people wouldn’t focus on the truth of this catastrophe and what the board had actually done. Their strategy was never built to withstand scrutiny, how could it be? The facts tell a different story. Facts they knew they could not contain for long.

The evidence we have put before the federal court shows the conduct they so desperately want hidden. It shows a board that seized control through threats and coercion, manufactured “secured” debt that had already been converted into equity, used that manufactured debt structure to feign insolvency and steal Intrepid’s assets, falsified public records, failed to notify a senior secured lender and banking institution, tried to transfer Ashes of Creation into a Dawson-controlled entity, and then left hundreds of hard working families to suffer the consequences in a gross violation of labor laws. That is the outrageous conduct they did not want the public focused on. That is why they needed a distraction.

As shown in witness testimony and the public filings, their plan was not subtle. They orchestrated a scheme to take Intrepid’s assets and then conspired to have Jason Caramanis push distorted narratives through his online mouthpiece so that the public conversation would revolve around the ridiculous accusations against me and John instead of their unlawful foreclosure, their despicable treatment of employees and their families, and their attempt to walk away from the catastrophic damage they caused. They wanted confusion. They wanted outrage pointed in the wrong direction. They wanted the community fighting over false claims while they attempted to salvage control of the asset they tried to seize. This is a common playbook for them.

What they did to the Intrepid team was inhuman. What they did to the community was cruel. What they did to our reputation was deliberate. They took a project that millions of people were waiting for, a team that had spent years building it, and a company with real value and momentum, and they treated all of it as collateral in a private insider power play to line their pockets and leave everyone else holding the bag. Then they tried to blame the wreckage on the very people who had worked tirelessly for a decade trying to deliver the game they promised.

I will never allow that to stand.

Their lawsuit is now dismissed. My federal lawsuit against them remains active. I will not rest until the harm done to the team, Intrepid’s stakeholders, the Ashes of Creation community, and the millions of fans who believed in this project is answered for. They tried to bury the truth under lawsuits, threats, public smears, shell entities, and manufactured confusion. They failed. The truth is moving into court, into the record, and into the light.

There will be maximum accountability.
