If you had to start your own action camera company, what would you call it?
Apparently a lot of brand names use letters like S, C, P, T, A. And the least commons, X, Z, Y, Q and K.

I'm looking to start recording POV's of my photography for social media, what action cam currently has the best quality for this? (also what would be the best POV angle for this & any come with this accessory?)
I have recently bought a GoPro Hero 9. I want to start motovlogging so as a student I bought second hand for 9k. Now I want to connect that to mic how can I do that? The adapter that GoPro sells is around 5k. Are there any alternative options available?
Hi Guys,
I am trying to get into car videography, but I don't have $2000 sitting around to spend on a camera... So my best bet is for Action camera.
Does anyone have recommendation for me?
I researched this, seems like either Insta360 ACEPRO2, DJI OSMO Action6, or Pocket3 for the stabilization.
Any input from the community is much appreciated. Thank you in advance!
Hi, I have a DJI Osmo Nano and I’m confused about one behavior.
If I don’t use the camera for a longer time (hours/days), when I press the side power button it immediately starts recording, and when I stop recording it says “Powering off in 3 seconds” and shuts down.
Auto Recording is OFF in settings.
This doesn’t seem like “SnapShot” either (SnapShot on Nano is the in-recording photo capture feature: press snapshot button → takes one photo → returns to video mode).
Why does the camera sometimes auto-record on startup after inactivity? Is this normal firmware behavior / sleep mode feature, or a bug? Any way to disable it?
Thanks!
Does anyone else feel like the Muse 2 announcement is almost too good to be true? I’ve been obsessed with my Muse since I got it last year it has been such a solid little device but the jump to the Muse 2 and Muse 2 Pro seems like such a massive hardware leap that I’m starting to get suspicious. Those things look like absolute units compared to the first gen. Even though the Instagram teaser was a bit blurry, those two lenses look like they could be a total game-changer. Does anyone actually know anything concrete about the hardware updates for the Muse 2? I’m seeing rumors about a dual-lens system and maybe even a 1-inch sensor, but I’m wondering if they can actually pull that off in something this small. I’m also dying to see what kind of software upgrades they’re packing. My only real issue with the original was the weak photo editing system, so I’m really hoping they fixed that. If the features actually match the new build, it’ll be great, but I’m keeping my guard up. Honestly, I’m just thankful we can actually get these in the US without any drama. It’s been a bummer seeing brands like DJI having so much trouble reaching the US lately with all the FCC stuff, so I’m glad we have an easy upgrade path here. I still think it’s hilarious that their big promo involves winning a Muse 1 as a prize. It’s such a weird move to give away the old version to hype the new one, but I’m not complaining since you can never have too many cameras. If they can actually stick the landing, these will be the highlights of the summer. I’m clicking that pre-order button as soon as humanly possible, but I’m definitely going to be checking the fine print.
I currently have a osmo action 5 and a insta360 x4 air. I have used these with a divecase for videos but I really don’t like the audio and weight. The main issue I’ve had before was that the usb port or battery port wouldn’t seal properly allowing water to leak in. Would sealing the port covers with tape help or are there any other better methods?
I woke up today thinking it was just going to be a another Friday, but it turns out the universe (or rather the product pipeline) apparently had other plans. I am beyond excited to share the news that the Muse 2 and the brand-new Muse 2 Pro are officially making their way to the US market! We think it is a wonderful surprise and are so happy to finally share it with you.
Everyone at XTRA is a big fan of how compact gimbal technology can help creators capture their world, so seeing these new models arrive is a huge deal for us. We are especially interested in seeing what the Pro version has to offer and how its rumored dual-lens system and high-speed recording will help our community reach their goals.
XTRA's tech team say they’re building the MUSE 2 and MUSE 2 Pro based on what they learned from the original version. Instead of just adding bells and whistles, they’re focusing on refining the experience—basically making it easier for creators to film and share their daily lives without any friction.
From the brief: “Creators want tools that feel natural, reliable, and ready when the moment is there,” said their head of Marketing. “The MUSE 2 and MUSE 2 PRO are being built with that reality in mind.”
XTRA is still playing it pretty close to the chest with the full specs, but they’ve made it clear they aren't just guessing. They’re building these cameras to actually fit into a creator's real-world workflow. They want to bridge the gap with smarter hardware and software tweaks that make sense for how people actually use their cameras every day, rather than just adding features for the sake of it.
Since we are learned about this announcement at about the same time you are, we would love to hear what you think? Please tell us which features you are hoping to see in these new Muse models. We are curious if there are specific updates like better low-light performance or new cinematic modes you have been waiting for. We look forward to reading your thoughts and chatting more about this release!
Hello everyone. I'm looking for an action camera that takes acceptable to good photos. I understand these cameras are not for photography.
I've got a couple of reasons as to why I'd use it instead of my phone but I won't bore you.
My options are, in no particular order:
- DJI osmo action 5 pro
- DJI osmo action 6
- Insta360 ace pro 2
(so not the pockets or the detachable ones. I listed action 6 but I don't feel like I'll take advantage of the new improvements stated on paper)
I've watched/read a couple of reviews/comments and most of them recommend Insta360's but many other say the colors don't look natural and I sometimes kind of agree. I also scrolled through Instagram and lots people use Insta360's for photo but it feels like a kind of trend? Unfortunately I didn't find pictures in not so great conditions like cloudy days.
I''m willing to change settings on the device a couple of times a day for a good photo but I'm planning to do almost no editing.
I won't be using it to take pictures or videos at night, the darkest would be group picture on a rainy/cloudy day. It's for personal use, I'm no content creator so I don't even care about external mics but I'd like the internal ones to work well.
I'll keep on researching but any input is helpful. As I don't live in a country where I can purchase, try and return, it's a keep it forever thing (I know I can sell but still).
Thanks in advance.
