Where Sand Meets Snow — Skardu Cold Desert 🇵🇰❄️🏜️

One of the most unique places in Skardu is the famous Sarfaranga/katpana Cold Desert, where you can witness sand dunes surrounded by snow-covered mountains at the same time.

It honestly feels unreal when cold winds, desert views, and majestic peaks all come together in one place. During winter, the desert sometimes gets covered with snow, making the whole landscape look like something from another world.

Whether you love adventure, peaceful landscapes, camping, photography, or simply nature..,Skardu’s Cold Desert gives a completely different experience from anywhere else in Pakistan.

This is the kind of beauty that makes Gilgit-Baltistan unforgettable 🇵🇰🏔️

Queens of cones barumeti Peaks, Kondus in Central Karakoram 🏔️🇵🇰

Kondus Valley, nestled in the Ghanche District of Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan, is a hidden gem with granite towers and breathtaking natural beauty. Located 150 km from Skardu and 50 km from Khaplu, the valley shares boundaries with China and India, and sits at an altitude of 9,500 feet above sea level. With a population of approximately 10,000 people, the valley is rich in natural and cultural diversity, offering stunning views of the Karakoram range.

The valley has gained attention for its challenging rock climbing routes, particularly the Changi Tower, a granite rock spire suitable for elite rock climbers and high-altitude photographers. The best time to visit Kondus Valley is from June to September.

However, the valley has faced recent challenges due to climate change, with floods sweeping away homes, roads, and fields. You can donate to support the cause, with options to sponsor full or partial houses.

Is Anyone Here Successfully Earning Online and Open to Guiding Others?

Is there anyone here who works online and earns a decent income, and is willing to guide or share their knowledge with others voluntarily? I’m a 50+ male trying to learn and improve, and I’d really appreciate advice from someone experienced.

I’m looking for some budget-friendly but tasty restaurant recommendations in Abbottabad.

I’m a student, so I’m not looking for anything fancy, just spots where the food is good, filling, and affordable for regular lunch or dinner. Cleanliness matters, but I’m totally fine with dhabas or small local places if the food is worth it.

Would really appreciate suggestions for:

- Desi food (daal, roti, karahi, etc.)

- Fast food that’s not too expensive

- Any hidden gems that most people might overlook

Also, if you can mention approximate prices or what dish the place is known for, that would help a lot.

I once disliked the rain of Abbottabad. But with time, its cloudy evenings, quiet hills, and golden sunsets became a part of me. And now, as I prepare to leave next month, I realize something strange: we do not merely live in places — places also begin to live inside us.

Yet, just like humans are mortal, our time with places is mortal too.

We can't do anything but just leave it, Byeee Byeee Abbottabad 👋👋

I’m 30M from Abbottabad but visiting only occasionally these days.

Honestly, coming back now sometimes feels like visiting a concrete jungle compared to how I remember it growing up.

Sadly administrators are least bothered about this beautiful little hill station being turned to hell station. What are your thoughts?
