My first set of terrain

Hey there!

I just wanted to share my results. Started to paint in late December, got my hands on Sand&Bone terrain and Stormcasts from Skaventide.

Watched couple of videos, learned some basics, found reference picture and here we go.
Also, really enjoyed drybrush tech - both the result and process.

p.s. painting fences sucks, lol

Help a dad out

Hello everyone I’m seeking some advice. I’ve been playing spearhead for about 3-4 months now, I’d say I’ve definitely got the rules down and I own 4 different teams. Sylvaneth, both khorne, and helsmiths of hashut.

Here recently my 9yr old son wants to try to play a game with me, I’m super excited about this but I also worry that the amount of rules will be a lot for him. Any advice on how to best approach this to make it as fun as possible for him?

Post April 2026 Battlescroll - Bad Moon Madmob vs Cursed Shacklehorde Spearhead Full Game

Post April 2026 Battlescroll - Bad Moon Madmob vs Cursed Shacklehorde Spearhead Full Game

In probably the best game of Spearhead we've played (so far) the newly nerfed Bad Moon Madmob take on the newly nerfed Cursed Shacklehorde.

This was a long game so I've edited it down a little more than usual so hopefully it's all good.

Hope you enjoy - Rob

How is first turn advantage is balanced in spearhead?

Hi,

I have just started playing Spearhead and have played a couple of games. However, I felt that the player who starts the first turn has quite an advantage over the defender. This is especially true if the defender's army is rich in shooting units. This is because they cannot shoot until their turn and are usually weaker in the combat phase compared to pure melee units.

What suggestions do you have for countering the attacker during the first turn, and how are these situations resolved by the game rules? I see that the twist cards should help the losing side, but I'm not sure if they really negate the damage advantage that the attacker can deal.
Thanks!

Which one is correct? Ironweld discipline change..

The battlescroll has the updated regiment ability to "Once Per Turn, Enemy shooting phase", with the 'Roll to activate', yet the app still has the new roll me mechanic, yet has it as "Once Per Battle, Enemy shooting phase".

I have a game tomorrow, so want to know which one is correct.

Can you save Battle Tactics?

Do you have to redeem Battle Tactics upon completion, or are you allowed to choose not to score them in order to preserve the Command for a later turn?

Specifically, I have hit the conditions to score Hold Ground, but the attached Command is a D6 heal on any Combat phase and that would be incredibly useful on my hero who is hanging by a thread. (Test game)
