20’ x 16’ Terrain Board

Commissioned a 20’ x 16’ terrain board (1” = 50 meters). The flat parts on the two unprimed panels are where the terrain rises enough that another foam board layer needs to be placed on top. This is only half of the board.

Originally was thinking of using 6mm miniatures and had them 3D printed but am now thinking maybe 3mm miniatures (tanks, infantry fighting vehicles) is a better way to go. Or maybe use 6mm for a beginners rule set and 3mm for the advanced play.

Any thoughts?

Also debating whether to try to finish the terrain so it looks real (and takes forever to do) or just flock it in colors that would correspond to a movement rate) like dark green is dense forest impassable to tanks, and medium green is sparse forest with -1 movement modifier, etc.)

3mm Modern Units

Working on creating my own game; here are some of the models I’ve made. I 3D printed the name plates with two-tone plastic. I’m going do the same for the Russian ones with a red base for the nameplate.
