Goodbye to Language in 3D on a projector

Does anyone know if there are ways that one could watch Goodbye to Language in 3D without a 3D blu-ray or projector (for instance, I have access to a relatively powerful projector but am unsure how a 3D copy of the blu-ray might look with that). Or perhaps have there been any versions of the film produced that utilize a cruder blue-red type of 3D.

I will be watching this on a lecture hall projector.

If it's just a lost cause, 2D will do.

Hi everyone, first time posting here, but I’ve properly fallen in love with 3D Blu-ray...

I started collecting 4K Blu-rays a few years ago, and since my projector supports 3D, I figured I’d give it a try. Picked up a pair of glasses and a few movies… and I know you all know but I didn't know... you know?

It’s not that it’s “better” than anything else, I think of it as a completely different way of experiencing films you already know. I put Jurrasic Park 3D (I also own in 4K), and I was completely pulled in. It’s honestly such a amazing feeling revisiting something so familiar, but seeing it in a totally new way.

Also worth mentioning my daughter absolutely loves it. I got a few animated films, and after one or two tries getting used to the glasses, she’s now fully into it. If nothing else, for kids alone, this is an incredible experience.

P.S. I imagine these newer 4K projectors are doing an even better job in 3D (did not have 3D before this)? Because the image I’m getting is just sooo good.

I have read a lot of bad bad comments about the T2 bluray release, but I really enjoy the T2 3D version. I have yet to see Titanic in 3D again (it is a long sit), but it was also done well. It is of course too early to talk about a 3D Bluray release of Aliens since even a theatrical release is only in the "thinking about"-stage, but Cameron is one of the few that can make those happen.

My first watch, quick review:

Movie: it was ok. Some of the actors were decent, others not so much. The plot was missing something. I’m not sure what, but I felt like it was basic or missing something.

3D: no pop out (this is rare). Not much depth either. A majority of the movie I didn’t feel like I was watching a 3D movie. There’s a moment here or there with depth, but in general there wasn’t much there at all. I actually had to make sure I had the 3D version in.

Summary: Don’t buy. This is the worst 3D I’ve ever watched. I was disappointed as I was looking forward to this one.

Just got tipped by /u/Serious_Trash_7142 in a reply to a comment in /r/IMAX about this upcoming release.

So they shot this in 3D Technicolor. Did anybody have this one on the radar already? Pretty cool for this to get a proper 3D Bluray release in 2026.

I am a long time fan of IMAX and IMAX 3D. I recently have done my fair share of Dolby vs IMAX comparisons, e.g. with the re-release of Avatar 2 and of course Avatar 3. Although I enjoyed both formats (also 4DX 3D, btw, ScreenX less so)

However in my country there is no IMAX (2D nor 3D) release of this concert registration (a mix of shows in Phoenix, AZ and Manchester UK.)

I am certainly not the world's most die hard admirer of Billie Eilish, but what she created together with James Cameron is quite a feast for the eyes and ears. It sets new standards for image quality, sound and immersiveness. It was a big party in the cinema (Pathe De Kuip, Rotterdam, Netherlands). Fortunately this theater is one with super comfy seats and plenty of space between the rows of chairs, because fans got from their seats and started dancing together at the front of the hall, close to the screen, mimicking the togetherness and intimacy of the Eilish concert on screen. It was really a quite something to see.

Cameron reportedly used 17 3D cameras, including a highly portable one held by Eilish during several songs. This flexibility and portability is not something that can be achieved yet with native IMAX cameras, so I sort of get Cameron's recent love and aim for a Dolby Cinema release.

Even though I only really knew less than half of the songs, I was really taken away and even wiped away a tear at times. The songs, the fan reactions, the mix with interviews and backstage footage, it really captured me.

For the aspect ratio nerds here: this Rotterdam Dolby has a ~1:2.35 screen (by comparison: the one in Scheveningen is closer to more vertical 1:1.78). The movie was projected here in 16:9, so with black bars on the sides. I think that is a good idea, so we got to see all the vertical information (another comparison: Avatar 2 was shown here in the scope 1:2.35 ratio, which made me prefer Scheveningen for watching Avatar 3 in Dolby Cinema.

While Cameron is of course mostly known for his cinematic work and thus cinematic look, here the look is more realistic, natural and sharp. Visually it feels closer to a documentary than a movie. However it is a very immersive, engaging and touching one. The image quality is absolutely top notch. I am already looking forward to the 3D Bluray home release, something only Cameron can seem to enforce these days.

We've had the Samsung SSG-5100 glasses since they came with the TV and unfortunately after 12 years the arms aren't staying on.

Are there any compatible replacements we can try instead? Preferably some which have more of a wrap-around and block out the light more.
