Obviously this leaves a lot of capacity at FLL and MCO to be absorbed, but given jetBlue’s precarious financial state, can they afford to take advantage of this opportunity? On the other hand, with UA possibly looking to expand in South Florida, not to mention DL already having a large presence at MCO, can they afford *not* to?
A significant number of A320s and A321s will soon be available from Spirit due to the shutdown, which would help - if jetBlue can afford them.
Unfortunately, Spirit’s customer base - leaves a lot to be desired and doesn’t exactly sync up with the level of fares jetBlue charges. But beggars can’t be choosers, especially beggars that are on the verge of bankruptcy themselves…
