I’m selling my old bike parts to help pay for the new one, but I don’t want to sell anything unsafe. Is the corrosion on the edge of the spoke shoulder concerning, or is it simply cosmetic? (In one of the pictures (#3) there is what appears to be a crack, but I scraped away a little paint and the underlying metal is sound—it’s just a really unfortunately located scratch.) Thanks for any input you may have.
I’ve been buying the parts for this bike for the last two years (hence the NBD moniker on a 2023 model), and I finally assembled it over the past week. While I’ve been riding Ultegra 11 speed di2 for years, this is my first 12 speed, my first tubeless, and my first disc brake bike. I think it will be a totally new riding experience compared to what I’ve been used to. The bike was built on the stand with a SILCA Hirobel mount, so the saddle angle relative to level with the wheels on the ground will have to be adjusted. The stack height may be extreme, but I want to dial it in before I make the final cut length, but since I’m 70 years old it may actually stay this way. A few rough moments during the build: getting the brake line to feed properly through the aero bars is not something I would want to do every day; finding a way to bleed the rear brakes without mineral oil spilling all over the place was interesting; stripping the threads out of the rear disc brake caliper mounting block due to the use of a bolt that was too long was pretty humbling, but Amazon had a new one there in a day and it was all good.
