Did I commit a grave mistake?

I bymistake over used a chlorhexidine/ antiseptic gum gel prescribed to use only for 3 days 3 times a day by dentist for like two-three months on and off cause i thought it's good for general gum health. I knew chlorhexidine causes staining and antibiotics in any form you shouldn't take more than prescription cause it results in killing off good bacteria as well and bacteria buildup resistance to it but I didn't care enough to read what was written on the gel for long until recently when I was about to use it again and i realised i shouldn't actually be using it so often. I'm scared I caused permanent damage. Last time I visited dentist to remove stains she polished them off and I didn't know why back then I'm having staining.. now i feel that was the reason. But I feel still some yellowishness stains are remaining I hope it's not permanent and next time I go for cleaning again I'll tell dentist the truth of what I did I feel bad😭😓

Can some dentist please reply and tell if this would be permanently bad stained teeth because of that gel or no🫠
