Good idea for off-road?

Hi Transalp-lovers!

I (M 1.75m - 5.7 feet) started my love story with motorbikes three years ago learning with a trials bike. Once I got my license I bought a Hornet 750 and I have loved all single second with her ( 34k kms - 21k miles in two years).

Recently I started to think about longer trips and furthermore doing some "rally", and I noticed the lovely Transalp 750.

This model looks as off-road oriented bike and has the same engine as mine. So I thought this was a "win-win".

But I have two questions:

  1. The Transalp model is a good idea for rallying? I'm looking for some roadbooks events on my country and even on Morocco. I mean, is this bike a good idea to take winding dirt and stone roads? I have seen so many trails and maxi-trails bikes with so many problems due the height and heavy weights.

  2. Should I keep my Hornet? I use my bike everyday along all the year (work commute, routes with friends...). I don't know if the Transalp should it be a good replacement for this matters as it is bigger and maybe not so confortable on narrow city traffic. (I live in a city and my work place is 15min away).

I will try a 2025 Transalp in two days to check if it fits to me on the city.

Love and ride safe my friends!
