Did the mechanic mess up my clutch adjustment? Looking for some expert opinions.
Hi everyone,
I recently took my Tenere extreme 24 to a reputable shop for a major service, which included replacing the clutch plates due to some noise.
Everything felt fine for the first 350-400 km, but then the clutch started slipping badly to the point where the bike was barely rideable. I towed it back to the shop, the mechanic "fixed" it in a couple of hours and sent me on my way.
A few days later, the slipping started again. I compared my bike to a friend's T7 (same year/model) and noticed that my clutch arm/actuator is at a completely different angle and feels way too tense compared to his.
I’ve attached two photos: One of my bike and one of my friend’s bike for comparison.
My questions:
1 Based on the photos, does this look like an incorrect adjustment or a bad installation?
2 Could this incorrect tension have burned through my brand new plates already?
3 Since I live far from the shop and this is the second time I'm dealing with the same issue right after a "fix," is it reasonable to demand they pick up the bike or cover the towing costs?
Would appreciate any advice or technical insight before I go back to the shop and argue my case.
Thanks!
