Amazon account flagged after a warranty complaint and asking for a refund that was promised to me months ago

I’ve been using Amazon very frequently since 2012. Never had issues with the exception of missing items in a package or my package being delivered to the wrong address. Amazon always handled these quickly and did an amazing job fixing things with refunds or replacements. I’ve also never even returned a single item on all these years, no chargebacks, nothing shady.

My last package was delivered to another wrong address and the delivery photo actually showed a completely different street address. I was told to contact them in 24 hours for a refund. Today I reached out after over 48 hours and was told I’d get a credit to be used only on items shipped and sold by Amazon. Oh, at first they said I’d have to redeem it within 30 days too, but changed it as a courtesy. Sucks, but alright.

I then also asked for help regarding a vacuum cleaner I bought where the battery has died and the seller advertised 3 year warranty. I’d already reached out to the manufacturer as well as the seller who just closed my ticket with no response. Amazon kept telling me to contact the manufacturer, which I had before even contacted them. I got fed up and left the chat.they also apparently don’t send transcripts anymore for privacy reasons so thankfully I took screenshots.

Four hours later I came to buy something. Credit showed up. Everything seemed normal. Then I came to add my credit card info. Card is under my name with the same billing address. I use the same three credit cards with no issue. This time it didn’t go through so I tried the same card again. Got another error so I tried another card. Same thing. Tired another card and I was locked out for 15 minutes contacted support who said my account was fine and to just wait 24 hours as I was now getting a message that said “blocked adding credit card for security reasons”. I asked the agent to confirm if my account was flagged or if anything was wrong and he said I’d have to call. I called and after explaining the situation I’m not being told my account was flagged by their security and fraud team. Apparently they don’t speak on the phone and the rep had to create a ticket and they’ll only send me an email within 24 hours.

I can still log in and everything looks fine but I can’t add a credit card.

I’m beyond pissed right now as this was one of the few times when I needed something ASAP; an external hard drive as in almost certain my current one is dying on me.
