Trying to create an information repository to understand the state of Uber taxis across Kerala cities. My experience is below. (will edit the text body based on updated information from members)

Kochi - widely available (others can add their experiences and nuances)
Thrissur- Widely available in and across city limits. Uber Auto also available. Trips cannot be chosen from outside city limits to outside city limits For example, no cabs can be booked from Vadanapally to Puthur even though the trip passes through Thrissur town. Cabs can be found relatively easily even outside Thrissur town limits, but rides can only be chosen to either Thrissur or other major Uber cities.
Kottayam: Widely available as intercity rides. No restriction on location. But rides are more expensive because every ride is an Intercity ride. Uber drivers have told me rides within Kottayam are profitable.
Palakkad: Only intercity available. Local rides throw a "No rides available" error.
