I have been applying for positions in purchasing in Germany for over three months and I’m not getting any interviews. What am I doing wrong?

Hello everyone,

I am currently looking for a full-time position in the field of Purchasing / Procurement in Germany (specifically as an Operational Buyer or Junior Buyer).

I have around two years of experience in purchasing within the automotive and industrial sectors (ZF Friedrichshafen, John Deere, Mercedes-Benz) and recently earned my Master’s degree in "Operational Excellence" in Germany.

I have been actively applying for over three months now (submitting more than 100 applications), yet I have not received a single invitation for a job interview so far.

At this point, I am trying to figure out what I might be doing wrong.

Some of my suspicions or concerns include:

I am unsure whether my CV meets German standards and expectations.

I would greatly appreciate honest feedback on my CV, particularly from people working in Germany or within the purchasing field.

Please do not mince your words; I would rather hear the unvarnished truth so that I can improve.

Ich bewerbe mich seit über drei Monaten auf Positionen im Einkauf in Deutschland – und erhalte keine Vorstellungsgespräche. Was mache ich falsch?

Hallo zusammen,

ich suche derzeit nach einer Vollzeitstelle im Bereich Einkauf / Beschaffung in Deutschland (Operativer Einkäufer / Junior Buyer).

Ich verfüge über rund zwei Jahre Erfahrung im Einkauf der Automobil- und Industriebranche (ZF Friedrichshafen, John Deere, Mercedes-Benz) und habe kürzlich meinen Master-Abschluss in „Operational Excellence“ in Deutschland erworben.

Ich bewerbe mich nun schon seit über drei Monaten (mehr als 100 Bewerbungen), habe bisher jedoch noch keine einzige Einladung zu einem Vorstellungsgespräch erhalten.

Mittlerweile versuche ich herauszufinden, was ich möglicherweise falsch mache.

Einige meiner Vermutungen bzw. Bedenken:

Ich bin mir unsicher, ob mein Lebenslauf den deutschen Erwartungen entspricht.

Ich würde mich sehr über ehrliches Feedback zu meinem Lebenslauf freuen – insbesondere von Personen, die in Deutschland oder im Einkauf tätig sind.

Bitte nehmt dabei kein Blatt vor den Mund; ich höre lieber die schonungslose Wahrheit, um mich verbessern zu können.
