Does anybody know what happened? It's Wednesday and the site is still not available for me. Seems like something went terribly wrong. Although if this is the price of replacing that abomination of a website with something else then I am more than happy to pay this price. In any case it doesn't seem like they acting very professionally here.
I’m a die-hard Kindle user and I’m not looking to switch, but is it just me or has Amazon completely checked out lately? It’s getting ridiculous. I constantly hit walls just trying to download a book I bought, and the only fix is a full restart of my Paperwhite.
The syncing is even worse. If I read a few chapters on my iPhone, the Kindle stays stuck in the past; the "furthest page read" basically only works when it feels like it. Then there are the straight-up broken bugs. The other night I switched to dark mode and it completely killed the backlight. Imagine sitting in a dark bedroom, toggling dark mode, and then having to fumble around with a pitch-black screen just to find the brightness slider again. It’s the opposite of intuitive.
It really feels like they’ve stopped caring about the bare-minimum features working properly. I’m not seeing any real firmware updates, and the UI is definitely not some "perfect diamond" that doesn't need work. Does anyone else get the vibe that the product is becoming a total afterthought for them?

We are currently in the process of buying an apartment in a new build project. Given how things can go sideways with some of these developments lately, I’d really like to have a surveyor (Baugutachter) ready to go from day one once work starts on our unit.
I don’t have much experience with this side of things in Berlin yet. Has anyone here gone through this process? I’d love to hear how you managed it and if it actually saved you some headaches during the final Abnahme.
