VIXSOUND - AI assistant for productionin Ableton Live

Hey everyone 👋

We've been working on building VIXSOUND, an AI production assistant for Ableton, which means a small desktop app that runs alongside Ableton and basically gives you a production assistant you can talk to while you work.

The idea is simple: you stay in the creative seat, and the assistant handles the boring/tedious stuff so you don't break your flow.

Some things you can ask it to do:

  • "Give me a dark trap drum pattern at 140 bpm" → drops a MIDI clip on a new track
  • "Find a warm analog pad and load it" → searches your library, loads it
  • "Separate the stems from this track" → drag and drop, done
  • "What's the key and tempo of this loop?" → tells you in seconds
  • "Turn this vocal into MIDI" → transcribes it
  • Plus the small stuff: volume, panning, sends, device params, anything Live exposes

A few things we really cared about while building it:

  • It generates MIDI, not finished audio. Your own instruments and plugins make the sound, the assistant just speeds you up. You're still the producer.
  • Everything audio-related runs locally on your machine. Stems, samples, project files, none of that ever leaves your computer. Only the text you type goes to the AI.
  • Whatever you make is 100% yours. No royalties, no attribution, nothing weird.
  • Native app, no terminal, no Python setup, no "git clone this first". Install and it just works.

Right now it's macOS + Ableton 11/12 only. Windows and Logic Pro are on the way (waitlists are open for both).

Why we're posting:

We genuinely need beta testers who produce music day to day. We've been staring at this for too long and we know we're missing stuff. Especially curious about:

  • What feels useful vs. what feels gimmicky
  • Whether talking to your DAW feels natural or just annoying
  • Things you'd expect it to do that it doesn't
  • Bugs, weirdness, anything that breaks

7-day free trial, no card required. Link's in the comments so we're not spamming the post with URLs.

We'll be in the comments all day answering anything, and honestly happy to take the heat too if you think the whole concept is off, that's also useful. Really appreciate anyone who gives it a shot!
