Most Melodic Buckethead Albums

The man simply does not stop recording.

Some albums strike just the right balance between intense and mellow.

So I've compiled a little list of favorites, along with some comments.
(not ordered in any particular way)

  • Old Toys (supremely groovy & relaxed)
  • Crime Slunk Scene (contains the classic Soothsayer)
  • March of the Slunks (great variety -- contains the highly slinky Malbert's Strut)
  • Shapeless (excellent title track)
  • Crumple (excellent improv)
  • Warp Threads (very energetic live set)
  • Factory (highly sonically varied)
  • Hide in the Pickling Jar (very slinky)
  • Blank Slate (great balance of energy and calmness)
  • Oven Mitts (excellent live set -- great version of Soothsayer)
  • Rivers in the Seas (excellent mix of mellow & forceful)
  • Live Feathers (some incendiary live versions)
  • Sonar Rainbow (contains the excellent Venomous Fog)
  • Land of Miniatures (great title track)
  • The Mighty Microscope (very tasty playing)
  • Adrift in Sleepwakefulness (very well-rounded)
  • The Frankensteins Monsters Blinds (highly tasty & funky)
  • Outpost (contains the incredibly funky Minor Domo)
  • Look up There (very satisfying playing)
  • Squid Ink Lodge (downright nasty)
  • The Mermaid Stairwell
  • Northern Lights
  • 22222222 (great title track)
  • In the Hollow Hills (great blues improv)
  • Poseidon
  • Oneiric Pool
  • Drift (especially #2 to #4)

His beautifully fluid style also reminds me a lot of Genndy Tartakovsky's work on the original Clone Wars show.

Would be awesome to see Moore tackle a Star Wars project!
