I’m tired of pretending college placements are completely merit-based

Some people spend months building skills, doing projects, preparing for interviews and still stay unplaced.

Meanwhile, people who can barely make a proper PPT and have zero real skills somehow get offers first.

At some point it stops feeling like merit and starts feeling like pure luck, timing, and panel mood.

People call it a skill issue, but placements honestly feel like controlled chaos.

Why are companies hiring for "entry level" roles that need 3+ years of experience?

I genuinely don't understand this. Freshers are already struggling to even get interviews, and then companies post "entry-level" jobs asking for 2-3 years of experience plus 10 different skills.

How is someone supposed to get experience if nobody hires them first?

Is this just bad HR wording, or are companies expecting people to work unpaid internships forever?
