I have a mini-14 but it’s super unreliable, I have feeding issues basically every time I take it out and magazines cost an arm and a leg. Any alternatives in 5.56? Prefer semi auto and detachable magazines.

Edit: also, about how much should I expect to pay for a decent rifle?
