My story to share with you about what happened on my great grandpa’s farm.

In the early 1950’s my great uncle (great grandpas son) was off to war in Korea. His son’s wife was staying with my great grandparents while he was deployed. One evening, my greats left the farm to head into town for groceries. They came back a few hours later and found their daughter in law sitting quietly at the kitchen table and she was as white as a ghost. It took them hours to even get her to talk so they could ask her what happened. Shortly after they left for town, the sun had set on the 100 acre farm. The hound dogs begin a crazy barking frenzy. They forced themselves under the front porch until the next day. She soon heard two men speaking in a foreign language outside the house. She didn’t dare go and look. She saw a bright flash outside the kitchen window and then just like that, it was quiet again. My great grandpa went out to his hog pin the next morning and several of his hogs were fried on one side and a few died. There were three tracks in a perfect triangle in the hog pin. My great aunt didn’t like talking about it , understandably, but something really interesting happened that night.

It’s 1989 and your mom just handed you the mixing beaters covered in chocolate icing.
