Friendly local game store role call, and what kinds of games they focus on.

I think it might benefit the sub to put together a list of "friendly local game stores" and the games they focus on. Here are the ones I've been going to:

HobbyTown USA (1915 S Havana St, Aurora, CO 80014): They have tabletop wargames, model building, and lots of tables in the basement for play.

Crit Castle (15382 E Alameda Pkwy, Aurora, CO 80017): They have trading card games, board games, and TTRPG's (including a lot for my favorite, Dungeon Crawl Classics/Xcrawl Classics)

Wizard's Chest (451 Broadway, Denver, CO 80203): Huge selection of board games, plust tabletop war games and TTRPG's. Friendly and helpful staff.

What are some of your favorite friendly local game stores in the Denver/Aurora area?

Does anyone know the original artist for this? It is one of the choices for a "Gongfarmer Local" Chapter Charter, and I'd like to make it into a patch.

Hey all. I just found out my local library has an embroidery machine, so I was going to learn how to make patches, and thought making a TTRPG Club Patch would be a fun way to practice. I'd like to find out the who the original artist for this is so that I can 1. ask permission and 2. offer to make them a patch too (provided I'm successful).

So does anyone know the original artist?

I recently got a wine making kit and "Home Winemaking: The Simple Way to Make Delicious Wine" by Jack B. Keller Jr. I would much rather have someone else or a group to explore wine making with, but I seem to be coming up short looking for one. Specifically, I'd like to focus on non-grape fruit, floral, herb/spice, and novelty wines. To be clear, I just feel like so many people have been working on the grape wine front, I'd rather explore something new. So I have nothing against grape wine.

I did see InVINtion, a wine store that you can go and take a class on wine making. I think I'll probably end up doing that, but I don't see any clubs that meet to just make and compare wines they have made.

Any ideas?

Edit: Added detail

I love my copy of "There is No Antimemetics Division" and I was wondering if any other authors had collected their works for sale? Seems like a good chance to add some obscurity to my bookshelf while simultaneously supporting worthy authors to keep making their art.

Hello all.

I've been mainly playing games other than dungeons and dragons, but some friends wanted me to run them through their first campaign, and I love running for newbies. I am taking "Against the Cult of the Reptile God" but making it more of a Cosmic horror themed. I'm looking for a pool of monsters to use for random encounters and placing different places.

So for example, instead of Troglodytes in the Foaming Mug Inn, I was going to have something like a powered up Gibbering Mouther and some cultists.

I feel like the leader of the cult in the moat house's goal is to summon the otherworldly prophet (I'm modifying Nyarlathotep for this) of an eldritch horror (Hastur mixed with the Hanged King from the SCP foundation). The cultists are practicing transporting abominations in the hope that they will eventually be able to summon Nyarlathotep.

So far, I found the Cloaker, Otyugh, Chuul, Grell, Intellect Devourer, Tsochar, and Nothic are all low level aberrations, but really only the Chuul and Tsochar feel that Lovecraftian to me. I'm making the Grell and Intellect Devourer something the cult are making to make them fit in a little more, but not sure what to do with the others.

And then more intelligent creatures like the Beholder, Aboleth, and Mind Flayers I feel like would be resistant to control, and therefore un-ideal to summon.

So what would be some good aberrations monsters to use for their low level (they are starting at 2 and will probably get to 5 or 6 by the end of the adventure)?

Any good aberration sources? I have the 5e and 5.5e monster manuals, as well as the 3.5e "Lord of Madness." Open to non Wizards sources and content as long as it has interesting design!
