Amtrak ridership by sextiles

To break Amtrak ridership into similar-size geographically coherent groups, using /u/glowing-fishSCL's data, I had to move from their five groups to six. My map only shows five, because the sixth isn't a state: it's just NYP, responsible for 18.7% of all Amtrak boardings and disembarkments. The rest of my groups and their percentages are:

  • West Coast: 16% (Blue)
  • Mid-West/West: 14% (Orange)
  • New England + Upstate NY (really all of NY state except NYP): 15% (green)
  • Mid-Atlantic (PA, NJ, MD, and DE): 18.6% (purple)
  • South (including DC): 17% (pink)

Not all exactly the same size (in terms of ridership) but closer than the previously posted version, and I hope the sorting by region offers some insight.

There were lots of other suggestions on that post for other ways to look at the data, and I'd encourage other people to play with the data that u/glowing-fishSCL put up in a spreadsheet and plot it different ways. The way I've plotted it here does nothing to to show the vast differences between the states within a group, for example. Nor does it address per-capita or per-land-area ridership.

Trident T.W.I.G?

Anyone have experience or opinions on the Trident T.W.I.G. SWB folding recumbent? I've been riding a LWB Burley for about 3 years and I'm quite happy with it, but would like something that's easier to transport in a car or on a train, and this folds, and isn't too expensive, at $1349. https://tridenttrikes.com/jouta-delta/products/t-w-i-g/

Thanks for any input.

Photo taken from the train. Many of the stops on this line have even less infrastructure than this.
