Can probuckers fix my 2009 Standard LP?

I have this 2009 Epi LP Standard, cleans sound great and almost jazzy but the moment I add any amount of gain everything gets so muddy and flubby especially on lower strings you can barely hear the difference between neck and bridge.

Now everyone says how cheap hardware have massively increased in quality so I was wondering if swapping to a cheap probuckers set will help with more defined and tighter low end especially with gain, thanks.

Muddy tone on Epi LP, volume pots reading 8.5k

I brought back from storage my old 2009 Epi LP, sent it for a setup and everything was fine, except when the guy at the store (he didn't do the setup) plugged it into an amp and showed me that it sounds very muddy as if the tone knob was fully closed, he's completely right and at home no matter how I change the amp's EQ it sounds awful with any amount of gain.

All 4 potentiometers are supposed to be ALPHA A500K, but only tone pots read around 450k between pin 1 and 3, measuring between 1 and 2 resistance goes down linearly with the knob. Caps also read within spec at 24nF.

Meanwhile both volume pots between pins 1 and 2 only read 8.5k fully open and 110k when at 50%. Measuring between 1 and ground both volume pots read around 8.5k.

Is this normal because I'm measuring them wired or they're actually both bad and sending all high frequencies to ground?
