Uber sends way too many notifications

I’ve turned off the marketing notifications but am seriously considering turning off ALL notifications and just hoping I don’t miss my ride because of how many “”time sensitive”” ones they send.

For some of my common trips I get eight to nine notifications, each one interrupts me trying to get out of the house because I check to make sure my ride wasn’t cancelled.

It’s usually:

- we found you a ride

- so and so is on their way

- get ready to meet your driver

- your driver is 2 min away

- your driver is arriving

- your driver has arrived / wait time charges

- buckle up

- door opening on bike lane

- don’t forget to tip (this is arguably marketing!)

- driver thanked you for your tip (this is too!)

This is WAY TOO MUCH. I don’t care if every one is potentially useful— they need to consider the overall and reduce it somehow.

Has anyone just gone to no notifications form uber? I’m thinking about it.
