Possible solution for vibration noise on 450s with headlight grill
Hi all! A little story which might help others. I ordered a brand new Himi with some accessories including the headlight grill. After my dealer told me how much they charge for installation of those accessories I decided to do it myself. After a first short ride to home from the dealer I was happy and didn’t notice anything, and I started installing the accessories right away, starting with the headlight grill. After installing I rode several km’s, happy but also a noise from the front caught my attention around 5000 rpm. I know, Himis vibrate, but this felt annoying and I couldn’t find the cause. I thought that it might have something to do with the break in period but after 700km it was still there. So I decided to remove the headlight grill, and double checked all torque vallues with a torque wrench. But after finishing, I noticed that the mounting bracket was touching the headlight bracket! I fixed this by simply adjusting the adjustment screw to tilt the headlight up, which created a small 1.5mm gap which totally solved the issue. I know, it might feel like a rooky mistake, but finding the cause of vibration issues can be a frustrating process so I thought it might be worth sharing. Attached a picture of the gap, I don’t have a picture of the situation before unfortunately!
