Need help for "Cocktail" attire

I'm going to a friend's wedding in a less than 3 weeks and will have to dress for "cocktail" attire. The problem is that in the past 6 months I've gained like 15lbs, which has officially made me too fat for my old suit (that I was barely fitting into as it was).

I don't wanna invest in a pricey new suit as I'm hoping to shed the weight I gained and fit back into my old one eventually, but I would like something cheap that I can use for this event (prefer that to renting).

Any recommendations on stores and items I can check out?

For reference I'm 5ft7, about 223lbs, and I tend to carry a bit more weight in my belly.

I usually wear XL or 2XL for tops and around 38-40 for high rise pants (I use suspenders to keep them up)

LOST vs From

I recently started watching From as I was told it was similar to LOST and have some thoughts.

First of all, there are definitely a large amount of similarities between the show right off the bat. The mystery box, the in-show theories, the fact that both shows technically start with a big crash, etc.

But what I've come to realize as I've continued watching is that From is basically a version of LOST where the focus is entirely on the mystery as opposed to the characters. Most of what we learn about the characters in From comes from drawn out dialogue as opposed to action and we have nothing that resembles the flashbacks.

Turns out that the flashbacks are what make LOST work so well. It allows the show to build its characters in a very deep way and that makes the story so much more gratifying as it progresses.

I've found From to be an extremely mid version of LOST due that shift in storytelling style.
