Help for getting appointment slots - Emergency.

Help for getting appointment slots - Emergency.

Hey all.

I got an internship at CERN this summer and it's very important for me and my carrier. I need to join on 27th of june. But I can't get any free slots for appointments. All are booked. Generally it takes 15 days for visa processing so i must get an appointment before the 10th of june at least. All slots are booked until the 3rd of June. After the 3rd of june nothing showing may be they haven’t opened any slot yet.

Can you guys have any idea at what time new slots are usually opened? And if I can't manage is it possible to get a visa through an emergency visa? Do the Swiss embassy have that Facility? My internship is for 58 days and I'm from Bangladesh.

Hi everyone,

I was accepted into a Summer Student program at Switzerland and need to apply for a Switzerland (Schengen) visa from Bangladesh.

The problem is that I need to be there by 27 June, and since the visa process usually takes around 15 days, I’m already on a very tight timeline. Unfortunately, all appointment slots currently appear to be fully booked.

I’m not sure what the best next step is at this point. Has anyone recently gone through this process or faced a similar situation? Is there any way to secure an earlier or emergency appointment?

I would be extremely grateful for any guidance. Thanks a lot

Hi everyone,

I’ve been accepted as a Summer Student at CERN under the NMS category, but I still haven’t received my official invitation letter.

My supervisor also hasn’t been assigned yet, which is making me more concerned.

From what I understand, the invitation letter is required for visa processing. Without it, I can’t contact the Swiss embassy for an emergency appointment, and I also can’t obtain a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from my university.

I’ve already emailed the HR contact who sent my acceptance letter, but haven’t received a response yet.

On top of that, my parents are asking whether I should drop my semester for this (they dont know CERN btw) , and they’re even worried that the acceptance email might have been sent by mistake. I'm telling them how it's important for me and a lifetime chance.

So I just wanted to ask:

Have all NMS students received their invitation letters and supervisor assignments already?

Or are others still waiting like me?

Is this delay normal in the process?

Am I being too worried?

I’d really appreciate any insights from past or current participants.

Thanks in advance

Hi everyone, I posted earlier but my account got banned, so I’m reposting since not many people saw it.

I recently received the email confirming my selection for the CERN Summer Student Programme. I’m really grateful to this community, this subreddit helped me a lot during the process.

I’m very happy, but also quite nervous. I’ve never traveled outside my country or even been on a plane before. If everything goes well, I might be the first person in my family to go abroad. For context, I’m from NMS Bangladesh.

I’ve completed most of the registration form, but I still have a question about the travel insurance (Schengen visa section). The registration deadline is May 6, and in my country banks and insurance offices are closed on Friday and Saturday. Would it be okay if I submit the insurance details slightly after the deadline, or is it mandatory to include it before submission? I submitted my passport copy as they sent another mail yesterday for it.

I also have some questions about the visa process:

What documents are typically required for a Schengen visa in this case?

Do I need to book my flight tickets before applying for the visa? Btw I dont have plan to stay after the internship as I need to complete my graduation.

I want to prepare everything properly because I’m a bit worried something might go wrong at the last moment. This opportunity means a lot to me, and I’m not used to handling something this big yet.

I’ve already emailed the summer student team but haven’t received a reply so far. Also, does the flight cost need to be paid by me first, or is it covered under the travel allowance?

Thanks again to everyone here, I truly appreciate all the guidance I’ve received
