Hey all,

The timing of the announcement of these recent changes to OSAP just a few weeks before exam season does not seem accidental. The few weeks leading up to exams offered a window for us to gather support and build some momentum with 2 protests and social media coverage. This momentum was quickly stopped by exam period. As we all had our heads down focusing on exams, protests were understandably the last thing on our minds.

I suggest that this timing was not accidental, and was possibly purposefully timed to allow for some momentum to build, some grievances to be sympathized, and yet not long enough for real momentum and change to be built.

In 2012, Quebec was going to raise tuition costs by 70%, and Québécois protested and STOPPED that change. I think if we continue protesting and speaking our minds on this, we could stop these OSAP changes before they are put in place for the fall term.

Once the changes are made, it will be VERY difficult and unlikely to reverse them, regardless of voting in a new leader in Ford’s place.

Could someone please tag the organizers of the original OSAP changes protest? And maybe we can get some traction, some numbers together, and have a peaceful protest(s) in the coming weeks!
