How to heal skin from tape adhesive removal

Yesterday, a somehow got a three inch scratch across my chest (maybe I did it in my sleep?). Before bed, I cleaned it with gentle soap, patted it dry, slathered it in Aqauphor, and put a non adhesive gauze pad over it. The issue (or now additional issue) is that the only tape I had was cloth tape, so I cut for strips to keep the gauze on.

When I woke up this morning, the two width length strips seem to have removed the top layer of skin (I can feel the irritation and the skin is slightly lighter than the surrounding skin). I've once again washed the area with mild soap, patted dry, covered in aquaphor, and just have a piece of gauze on it while sitting down. Does anyone have any experience with this type of skin injury? Any tips/suggestions? I'm so mad at myself for now making the area worse than when it was just a scratch, ugh!

Hi everyone,

I’m looking to travel to Mexico for an all inclusive vacation, specifically in mid to late September(special occasion, or I’d pick another time of year). These potential Superl El Niño warnings have me a bit concerned, so I’m looking for information on Riviera Maya during these potential weather system during that time of year. Any advice, stories, tips? I also wouldn’t be opposed to Cabo or other places in the general Cancun area. Thank you!

Note/ I will of course have travel insurance just in case (it is tropical storm season, so it’d be silly not to)

Hey All,

I have an upcoming trip this September, but am getting worried with all of these El Niño/Super El Niño warnings. Anyone have any advice, tips on how to decide, or experience to share?

I keep seeing reports of a possible El Niño/Super El Niño that could go into the late summer and/or early fall. Currently, we'd just settled on a resort in Cabo, but apparently, an El Niño means that there can be hurricanes/terrible weather on the west coast. With that in mind, would be it a good idea to start looking into east coast of Mexico resorts?
