I am interested in taking PrEP. I had my consultation today for Yeztugo but it was not available yet at my clinic. They made it complicated just to get an injection. My only exposures would be receptive oral sex to men. I asked my PrEP provider but she was not helpful and confusing. She said it would be 80% effective???

I know the risk for oral sex is low but I also want a peace of mind. I just did not want to be on a daily pill. Would I be a candidate for the 2-1-1 method? Is it trustworthy?

Was visiting my grandma a few hours ago. There is a colony of feral cats living at her apartments. One of them, who has been there for a few years now, had kittens. I was petting her kittens and she came out of nowhere to hiss and swat my fingers away. I noticed there was a very light scratch on my thumb. It was a small graze. The area was pink (it’s mostly faded now).

I don’t believe she drew blood but my health anxiety is so bad. I’ve been in bed dooming about the thought of contracting rabies.

For reference, I live in Los Angeles County. I was going to call the rabies hotline for advice but I don’t wanna seem crazy. I already fear going to the doctor because I don’t want to be judged as a hypochondriac.

Is this something I should worry about?

My stats: 28, Male, 5’9, 140lbs, not taking any medications, no chronic conditions

I currently live in LA County. This stray cat has been living at grandma’s apartment for a few years. She recently had kittens and I was petting them. She came out of nowhere and lightly scratched my finger. I don’t see any blood drawn, but the area is very slightly red.

I know the odds of rabies is incredibly low but my health anxiety is telling me to get the shot. I am so scared and I don’t know what to do.
