Can anyone help explain some answers to me about norethindrone acetate?
I have been taking a birth control called Jencycla or norethindrone 0.35 mg because of endometriosis. To be honest it has not helped that much with the pain, but I know that progesterone and birth control does help some people.
I recently received a prescription for norethindrone acetate 5 mg which has been approved by the FDA for treatment of endometriosis and is a higher amount of a similar thing.
But I wanted to find out - does anyone know if norethindrone acetate is the same as Depo-Provera and Lupron? (hormonal treatments for endometriosis which I did not want to take because of certain long-term negative side effects)
I am also confused because some people said it is not birth control and other people said it technically is because it's a higher dose of norethindrone which is a birth control. (I might have seen that it was not FDA approved to be used as a birth control but does the same thing as birth control?)
