Hello! I’m gearing up for the release of my debut novel this August and I’m a bit confused regarding preorders.

I’ve been lurking on this sub for a while now and I’ve seen several folks saying that preorders are not a good idea since I’m an unknown author who has a very small social media presence (though hopefully that will continue to change throughout the summer).

But from my understanding I need to have my book available for preorder or live on Amazon so that it links to Goodreads and so my ARC team can leave early reviews.

Any clarity on this would be most appreciated because I feel like I need to do preorders for the afformentioned reasons but I don’t want to shoot myself in the foot come launch time.
