Determining PO vaginal discharge vs urine leak from vagina while on phenazopyridine (OBGYN or Urology)
I am recovering (13 days) from vaginal VVF repair, latsko procedure, and am testing the repair at home with prescribed phenazopyridine 200. The pad was clean all day until a very small spot of bright yellow showed up. I've been having a small amount of brown post surgery discharge, and today has been very light to nill in comparison to previous days. The SPC catheter is clamped so I can hold urine and toilet normally and test the bladder repair.
How do I tell the difference between a drop or two of urine and vaginal discharge? I have read that phenazopyridine turns vaginal discharge bright yellow as well. *I'll see the surgeon in a couple days, but I'm considering continuing the trial overnight to see if longer between toileting will put more pressure on the possible leak/ repair site and make it more known one way or the other.
