Eating Out as Vegan in NYC is becoming boring and frustrating.

I made this as a thought in response to another comment I made on here. With the closing of a lot of original, great vegan restaurants here in New York City, eating out is starting to be….not fun anymore. First, it’s getting to a point where your only options are those CityRoots restaurants (Willow, Sentir…) which in my opinion, half of them are overpriced and extremely underwhelming taste wise. Or you have to comb through non-vegan restaurants in search of a vegan option that’s not the Impossible and Beyond burger. Which leads me to my next point….

A lot of these restaurants and food spots, even some of the vegan ones that are left, simply use the Impossible and Beyond burger. No house made patty. No creativity whatsoever. Hell, some of these places can’t even be bothered to put seasoning on the patty. Not to mention the PRICE. I’m always irritated whenever I see the Impossible or Beyond on the menu and it’s the same price or even more expensive than its meat counterpart. How?? Why??

It’s just not worth it anymore. I loved restaurant hopping and trying new dishes but now it’s become a chore just to find a decent place, and then praying you won’t be disappointed by the quality of the food, and the price. Anybody else feel this way? I fell off with cooking at home for about a while now 😂 but honestly this is the motivation I need to get creative in the kitchen again. And if there are any hidden vegan spots in any of the five boroughs that still exist that maybe I don’t know about, please drop them below so I can check them out and support. Thank you for coming to my Ted rant. :)
