Bullet-time/slow mo shooting is so fun x2
Hi I just completed two really fun games and wanted to share: Suit for Hire and Severed Steel. They are surprisingly similar.
Suit for hire was originally a top down shooter like Hotline Miami but they added a 3rd person mode and I played the entire game like that. You are basically John wick and can dive, dodge, duck, throw empty guns, kick barrels and shoot all in slow motion. So many cool moments diving off balconies through a window while shooting. Or just kicking a door and knocking the guy inside down. Really fun and has tons of replay ability with modifiers, score multipliers, time attack, costume unlocks, different behaviors on the starter guns. Very similar to My Friend Pedro but 3D. Good soundtrack too. Controls may take some remapping to be comfortable/make sense to me.
Also really enjoyed Severed Steel. Similar description but FPS with bullet time, arm cannon, wall running, sliding, kicking, double jump, gun throwing. Futuristic sci fi feel like Aeon Flux, Mirrors Edge mixed. INCREDIBLE soundtrack. Drum n bass, liquid mostly. Techno. Works so well. Guns feel great. Includes an arcade mode and a new rogue light mode and daily challenges. Plenty of replay value.
Really recommend both games on the deck they run great. I didn’t realize how much I missed bullet time like the max payne games. Anyone have more recommendations? I guess you can do it in the Red Dead and that other Juarez cowboy game.
