Added DCC to a really old Minitrix 0-6-0. I replaced the wheelsets on the tender and added power pickup, replaced the incandescent built with an LED, and generally cleaned it up. I think it runs pretty well.
I love making old engines like this run.
These are a set of my grandfather's Dolphins. I just received them from my aunt. He was a Chief Petty Officer, retired. He passed away March 2024, and these are what I asked for as a keepsake. I know he served on the USS Gudgeon, USS Dolphin, USS Barbel, and was part of the crew attached to the DSV Turtle. Not sure about the order of all of that.
My question is whether I should keep these as is, polish them, or half polish them such that the detail shows but not 100% polished.
I appreciate all of you bubble heads, even though I am not one. The humor of this sub is exactly the sort of humor that is in the family.
