Looking for "hidden gem" gig apps in Baltimore. Already doing Lyft/Empower and dash/grub hub, what else is hitting right now?

Hey everyone,
I’m a gig worker in Baltimore, currently driving a Prius Prime. I’m already on Lyft and Empower, but I’m looking for some "hidden gems" or less-crowded platforms that pay well in the city or surrounding areas (Owings Mills, Towson, BWI).
I’m open to anything:
Specialized Rideshare: (Is Alto or Wingz worth it here?)
Courier/Delivery: Beyond the usual DoorDash/UberEats. (Is anyone doing Goshare, Roadie, or Curri?)
Medical Couriers: Are there local companies hiring independent contractors for lab or pharmacy deliveries?
I’m looking for something where I can maximize my MPG and avoid the usual Uber/Lyft saturation. Any advice on specific apps or local delivery companies that are "sleeping giants" in Baltimore?
Thanks in advance for the help!

Denied by Spark due to "Provisional" license, even though I have an official MVA conversion letter. Any way to bypass the 6-month wait?

Hi everyone,
I’m in a frustrating loop and need some advice. I applied for Spark in Baltimore, MD, but I was just denied. The reason is that my physical license still says "Provisional."
However, I have an official MVA Conversion Letter (dated Dec 6, 2024) which states that my license has automatically converted to a Full Driver's License. The letter even says it should be carried with the provisional card as proof of status.
First Advantage completed my background check and listed me as "Provisional," and Spark immediately sent me the "6-month eligibility" rejection email.
My questions:

  1. Has anyone successfully appealed this by showing the conversion letter?
  2. If I go to an MVA Kiosk tomorrow and get a "Temporary Interim Receipt" that shows my FULL status, will Spark/First Advantage accept that to reopen my case?
  3. Is there a specific email or phone number for Spark where I can talk to a human who understands MD MVA laws, rather than a bot?
I drive a Prius Prime and was really counting on this. Any tips on how to handle the dispute with First Advantage or Spark would be greatly appreciated!

Hey everyone,

I’m pretty new to fishing and I’m looking for a good, easy spot near Baltimore where I can take my kid and actually catch something (doesn’t have to be big fish, just want some action so he enjoys it).

Preferably:
- shore fishing (no boat)
- not too many complicated rules/restrictions
- a place where fish are somewhat active / easier to catch

I’ve tried Liberty Reservoir but didn’t have much luck from shore.

If you know any good spots (ponds, lakes, parks, etc.), I’d really appreciate it 🙏

Thanks!
