What skills do you actually think matter for teenagers now?

I keep seeing people say things like “they’ll need to be adaptable” or “learn to use AI properly”, but I struggle to translate that into what it actually means day to day for a teenager.

Not in 20 years, but right now.

Are there any skills you’re actively trying to encourage, or does it still feel a bit unclear?

Is anyone else noticing their teenager relying a lot on ChatGPT?

I’ve started noticing this more recently, using it for homework, quick answers, even just random questions, and just taking whatever it says at face value.

Not sure if I’m overthinking it, but it does make me wonder whether they’re actually learning how to think things through or just defaulting to it.

Curious if others are seeing the same?
