There’s more to life than the pursuit of power.
Solenn Yerna, a Faetouched Elf from the Azure Fields, was a prodigy. Unparalleled in her youth, she was strong enough to rival even some of the adults in her village. So, when she graduated at the top of her magical academy, Solenn felt the only thing left for her to do was pursue greater heights than they’d ever dared to achieve.
In the end, she got everything she wanted: the highest praise in the form of an invite to the Faeknight Tournament, enough wealth to support a small family for generations, and the satisfaction of knowing that she was the closest thing to a Faeknight that most people would ever see.
And yet, something was missing. Her peers had gotten married. Had children. Made lives for themselves beyond the pursuit of power. And they looked so much happier than she felt!
Following a conversation with a group of her peers, Solenn decided that she’d take a break from the pursuit of power and took something of a vacation to the Undying Vale. Only a few days into her journey, and she saw something fascinating: a young party of two being challenged by two members of the royal Kenviir family! As defiant as the young man and his Faetouched partner seemed, they may as well have been puppies barking at Brizigians. There was no way the two would ever defeat the Kenviirs…
…not unless they had help from a prodigy.

Expectations/What’s New
(The expectations are pretty much the same as with the first book, so I'm focusing on what's new here).
Interludes - To get a little meta, there were supposed to be interludes in the last volume, but Serena’s character changed a little too much while writing the book, and the interludes I had written for her stopped being relevant, so I cut them. Solenn’s interludes are tied to her character as well as her core motivations, so they can’t be cut! Yay!
Explicit Scenes & FF Content - There are three sex scenes in this book, and two of them are FF. If you aren’t a fan of FF content, you can skip the sex scenes. I’m confident in the story being told. The sex scenes in this story are a garnish. They enhance the story, but they aren’t the story. I could get really long-winded about this point, but I won’t. If you actually care for my long, nerdy opinion about sex scenes in stories, ask in the comments and get ready for that yap session.

Schedule, Audiobook, and Closing Notes.
Same schedule. Volume 3 drops next month. I’m gonna be going on vacation at the end of the month, but I’m not anticipating that disrupting the release schedule. As for Volume 4, though, it’s still looking like that extra month break is likely. The lore has changed just a bit from the time I made my original outline for the story, and I have to adapt everything I have to continue being coherent.
All quiet on the audiobook front. Still saving $$$, still waiting for pub interest, still uninterested in pursuing virtual voices. The first book sold far better than I’d expected it to (THANK YOU ALL BTW), but it didn’t make thousands or anything. It was my first book under this penname! When Volume 3 comes out, I’m gonna start taking ads out. I can’t financially justify doing that right now, but when I do, I’m hoping it’ll give me the boost I need to start setting things up for the audiobook. Basically, it’ll be a little while before it drops :( On the plus side, I have a few VOs I’m looking at. Highly talented. Green site legends. I think you guys’ll like it.
Finally, I said it earlier but I’m beyond happy with how well the story did, especially considering how little I like it. I probably shouldn’t be saying this since the goal of this post is to sell you on my series, but hey. It took me fifteen chapters to find my voice, then once I did, I had a sudden family emergency pop up! How the hell am I supposed to write smut when I’m stressed about the wellbeing of my family?! At a certain point, it felt like I was just trying to get it over with, then I read through it to try to make it all sound decent enough. The fact that it got good feedback despite this was kind of a shock, but it made me happy. With Volume 2, I wanted to really put my best foot forward. It might’ve come across in that Explicit Scenes & Yuri Content tab, but I am VERY proud of this book. If the last one is a strong six to me, this one is a strong eight. I really can’t wait to hear your feedback on it.
Anyway, that’s all. I hope you like the story! Thanks for reading this little yap session. I swear my writing isn’t this long-winded.
