I had a dream that the fabric of society crumbled because people couldn't agree whether 2+2 equaled 4 or 5

In my dream, people have known that 2+2=4 for centuries and it was just, like... A well-known fact. But about ten years ago, Trump said that 2+2 actually equaled 5, and suddenly about a third of the US began believing it. People would spend hours arguing online trying to prove that 2+2=4 but the Believers wouldn't cave.

Then audio came out of President Trump saying that he never ACTUALLY believed that 2+2=5, he just wanted to see who would go along with it. Suddenly, the Trump fan base exploded. Some people weren't believing that he could lie, others were doubling down that 2+2=5, others were acting like they knew it equaled 4 all along but were just playing along with Trump. People began asking Trump about the discourse and he just acted like it never even happened. About a week later, attention shifted to something else and people forgot it ever happened.

This was in no way inspired by real-life events /s

(Also, yes, “the R word” was censored exactly like that in my dream lol)

Found some postcards at the antique store

While at the antique store, I found a bin of postcards and a couple old photographs. I started looking through them, hoping to find some interesting cards to use as wall decor (I did find a few!). While rummaging, I found that some of the cards were written on! So I picked them out and took a photo of them, hoping to read them later. I wonder if the whole collection belonged to the same woman? Among the postcards were also some photos of someone’s cat and snow-covered trees. Part of me thought about buying the postcards and making a photo album out of them but I couldn’t really justify spending $1.50 for each of them. Now I looked the woman in question up, I’m debating on going back and doing it anyway.

I believe I found the obituary of the woman mentioned in the postcards: Connie Schwartz (1952-2021 (68)). She passed after her sixth bout with cancer. The obituary also mentions Yvette and Laverne, so I believe this is the very same woman. There’s also a postcard or two made out to her mother, Dorothy.

After graduating high school, Connie enlisted in the US Army, then went to school for drafting. She worked as a draftsman until retiring in 2012. She then spent her free time sewing quilts and knitting for those in need, including hats for newborn babies and blankets for animals at the Humane Society. Instead of funeral flowers, the family asked for people to donate to the humane society, St. Jude’s Children Hospital, or the Wounded Warrior Project instead.

RIP Connie! You sounded like a badass, caring, and amazingly interesting person.
